Hi there, not sure if I’m posting my question in the right place, if I’m in the wrong spot, please feel free to let me know.
I have a mower KUBOTA ZD 1011 with a D782 engine that is no good anymore due to over heat, how ever I have a recent rebuilt D1005 engine and I wonder if I could replace the D782 engine with the D1005, any comment or anything I’m not aware of, is welcome, thanks

Being that your trying to swap a series 2 engine with a series 5 engine.
Key points you would need to compare are the throttle controls, the motor stop controls, the flywheel, and the oil filter location.
I do believe the blocks are the same length and width.

Good morning Wolfman, i surely thank you for the advice, again is great to have advice from the right person, i didn't took in account all what you just mentioned , i surely be able to re-route the stop controls, and the throttle controls, not sure about the oil filter and flywheel , i surely will dig more in to this.
one good is that the block will fit...more to come, again thank you for your key points

Note on the stop controls.

Kubota engines use several different methods of stop control.
One method need power to run, another method uses power to stop the engine.

One other thing I forgot to mention is RPM settings.
You need to make sure the RPM's will match.
