In my part of the world we called them buzz saws or cord wood saws. I have cut hundreds of cords of hedge {Osage Orange } with them. I have had one that we staked down and ran a flat belt off a old G JD tractor and later had one mounted on the front of the old G. Had a couple three point mounted ones. I have two now with engines on them mounted on trailers.Going back in the memory back i cant think of what the circular saw and tilt table was called. But as a kid dad would hire someone to bring over the tractor with one mounted on the rear. Seemed like a flat belt and pully to run the saw. And the saw was 'right out in the open', no guard or anything, I was told to stay back and don't trip near the saw or your done. They would cut slab wood from a saw mill then we'd spilt it for winter.
A different time then.
Some serious engineering in that wood truck, taking a idea and making it work.
Back in 1979 I bought a new left over 1978 CO 4070B with a 3406 A model cat in it with a 10 speed and spring ride on the back. Between myself and a few drivers mostly a uncle of mine we put over a million miles on that truck before selling it and I got out of fuel hauling. One of the best trucks I ever owned. I did put air ride on the cab and mini air ride on the rear spring hanger.Good looking old IH CO4070B in front of it. Spent a lot of hours working on those back in the 70s. Nice looking 57 Chevy next to it.
