Very sad day

My best friend and 35 year companion died today. My wife fought ALS for five years and was lively up until yesterday. She said she was tired, went to sleep yesterday evening, and passed today. I was able to have a priest give her last rites late last night and she was happy to see him. Going forward, everything is a fog for me now. We’ve known that her disease was terminal, but still it hits hard.

It is indeed because there is no hope of survival or cure. And every month the disease progresses, robbing the patient of more independence.

Words are never enough in these moments, but I'm sorry to hear of your wife's passing. Queen Elizabeth II summed up loss so astutely when she said "Grief is the price we pay for love." All the best to you in the days, weeks and months ahead.

Jyoutz I am so deeply sorry for this unbearable loss you have suffered.

This weighs more heavily on my heart than expected. To shed a tear for a brother whom I don't even know is something that has become more and more common as I get older.

I have prayed for you this morning, and will continue to, that you find peace and comfort.

And KNOW, that because of Jesus, she is in the greatest place she could ever possibly be. No pain, no sickness only praise and happiness.

I can honestly say I feel your pain as my bride of 58 years is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s and it hurts every day to see her slip away may you find peace
