When I look on Tractor data (usually a pretty reliable site) I see my rim size to be 16" front and 24 inch rears.
The tractor has 15" front and 20" rears on it.
I know older tractors can some times have the wrong rims on them.
Messick has options of 16" and 15".

Questions:
-Being 4 wheel drive I believe the front and rear have to be matched so one engine revolution means the same distance moved on the front and rear?
-I am not sure of the differential gear reductions though.

- What size should my tractor have on it?
-The transmission has such low gears I do not think tire size will impact my power?

Thanks,
The people here are always great and helpful!

The 15" / 20" was offered in 2 tire size sets.
27x 8.50 -15" and 41x14.00-20"
Are a matched set for turf tires, so was
29 x 12.5-15 and 355/80-D20

What tires are you running or want to run?

R1 7.2-16 and 12.4-24

R4 8.3 - 16 and 14.9 - 24
R4 10 - 16.5 and 17.5L - 24

R3 27 x 8.50-15 and 41 x 14.00 - 20
R3 27 x 10.5-15 and 21.5L - 16.1
R3 29 x 12.5 - 15 and 355/80 - D20

I would like to run R4 tread and a 16" rim. I am having a little tougher time finding a 15" tractor rim with the an offset of 3.5". 3.5" is what the rim currently on the tractor measures.

This site (even though it is for autos) helped me understand the proportional size of front to rear wheels. North Idaho Wolfman's great help it looks like a ratio of 1.5 to 1.45 would be good.

My current set up is not factory the 27-8.50 with the 355-80. These give me a ratio of 1.56. I did see slippage at times with only the front which seemed odd to me. Being direct drive both wheels should be wanting to move the same distance.
