    L2201 overcharging issue

After a lot of search for an equal alternator I ordered the Hitachi or Huco 132801. Same socket for the cables with an extra 12volt cable to use it for something else. Price in Greece 32 euros with shipping while the price for the Nippondenso 026000-2121 is 120€.

    L2201 overcharging issue

Hallo everyone, the problem was actually the regulator. I just installed a new one and now at 2000rpm it is constantly at 14,4 volts! I used a new type of regulator equal to the nippondenso it had originally, for almost 1/4 of the nippondenso price. Thank you all for the advice!

    L2201 overcharging issue

Minor update The B line (battery) from the regulator to main switch was cut. When I reconnect it the light on the dash no longer dims but the battery is not charging. When I take it off like it was before I get again the non stop overcharging issue. Ground cable is fine. Any suggestions...

    L2201 overcharging issue

So I started with the alternator test as the wsm suggests. The readings are all ok except from the resistance which about 0,5Ohm less. This is likely due to the poor state of the connectors. Anyway I continued with regulator test. First test was ok (around 4,9 volts) but during the second I got...

    L2201 overcharging issue

The L2201 is indeed the L245 equivalent with minor differencies. My voltmeter is connected to the battery cable on the main switch, so I can chek the battery readings while working. But I also used a multimeter hooked directly to the battery and confirmed that the readings were the same. The...

    L2201 overcharging issue

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the regulator of L2201? My battery died suddenly so I installed a voltmeter on the dashboard and realized that I was getting more than 15 Volts after 2000rpm. Any suggestions on what to check beside the regulator? Thanks!

    L2201 water temp sensor

Latet update, the sensor works fine. The small tempertures I used to see were due to the combination of cold weather and the lack of a thermostat. Now with outside temp from 20-26C when I use the bush hog it goes up to 100-105C.

    L2201DT hard start

I have 10,5volts on the glows plugs. I also have taken them off to check them with 12 volts directly and they work fine. I ‘ll take off the starter to check and rebuild it if necessary. I looked to older posts and from the pictures and part numbers I can tell that my starter is different from...

    L2201DT hard start

No difference on the starter. It turn it over fast. If I turn it off immidiately after it starts I have to repeat the procedure. If I actualy use the tractor 10-15 minutes and it gets warm, then I can restart it with no issues. About 2650 hours on the tractor.

    L2201DT hard start

Hallo everybody, my tractor is usually difficult to start, especially if not used for a couple of days. Most of the times I have to repeat the preheating-cranking procedure 3-4 times. The battery is new, glow plugs checked and work fine, new fuel filter and I just had my injectors cleaned and...

    L2201 oil pan gasket replacement

Hallo, has anyone replaced the oil pan gasket on an L2201 or L245? I need walkthrough on how to remove the oil pan. Is it doable without removing anything else? Thanks!

    L2201 water temp sensor

Major update, there is no thermostat at all installed. Someone removed it with its housing and welded a pipe that goes to the radiator. I will order a new housing and a new thermostat and see how the sensor reacts.

    L2201 water temp sensor

Update, I used some heat conductive grease but still the temp is 45-50 Celsius and 60-65 under load. The responsiveness though improved. A mechanic told me that it could be normal for old tractors like mine. I am not sure what to believe. I could try a new brass fitting that goes even deeper or...
