    Where does your tractor sleep?

Don't I wish! I'm imagining a cold winter morning, with some snow removal ahead, but for the moment just puttering around in the predawn making things right and sipping coffee. Hot, bitter, thick, steaming, potent, utterly black coffee. Maybe an oil-stained rag in hand....

Warming the spouse up to buying - wasn't prepared for this one!

Preparing for the day I hope I'll be buying a new tractor, I've been trying to warm Mrs. SmallChange up to the idea. Not that she would have to be involved, exactly -- it's just that anything the size of a small car, that roars, and is bright orange, she's gonna notice. It didn't go so well last...

    Where does your tractor sleep?

I have a pole barn with plenty of room, bays 10' by 10' by 20' long, but the leaves blow into it and pile up there. The floor is dirt. I'm thinking of adding sliding doors to keep leaves out, but then that might make it pretty damp in there, and hasten rust. I'm wondering about floor treatments...

    Renting a trailer for a L2501

What about hiring a car carrier to do the job? That doesn't require owning or renting a trailer, or having a towing capability on your own vehicle. And there are zillions of these available for hire. They probably can get into more spots than trailers, too. I've been wondering about this for...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Moved about a cord of matted wet leaves out of the parking area with a landscape rake, and then dozed them over an embankment. Moved about another cord of same out of the corner of our fenced area and pushed them into a pile of branches, compost, clippings, and previous years' leaves. And...

    L2501 w/ Loader?

What is the impact of paying cash versus financing? Which way can get you a lower out-the-door?

Statistical analysis of used Kubota prices

I drive a manual station wagon that I bought because its repair statistics were tops. A car is too fleeting a thing to buy because you're in love with it. And it's too expensive to let it be more than an appliance -- though it is a pretty amazing one, as it repositions the entire planet to bring...

Statistical analysis of used Kubota prices

There's a significant chance that successfully explaining my purchase of a brand new tractor will become critically important to me in the near future. I may quote you. In fact I may memorize and practice all the points you made, so I can still manage to quote you in situations of extreme...

Statistical analysis of used Kubota prices

I've definitely done that. There are six tractors in the list that are 2019 year with 0 hours -- those are all Build My Tractor website quotes, with loader, ag tires and no added warranty. I looked pretty closely at the L2501DT specs and looked at a new one on the dealer lot, sitting right next...

Statistical analysis of used Kubota prices

I think I'd really like to get an L2501 with loader, probably gear transmission but possibly HST. Or maybe I have to be more stingy and get a B series in the low or mid 20 hp range. But I know very little about tractor pricing. I guess I need to go used, but, how old? How do I compare age in...

1.6 miles to gas station - drive it there?

Saaaay, that's a REALLY good idea! I do have a hitch on my station wagon and a few times now I've thought there ought to be more useful things I could do with it. And yet, incredibly, I didn't think of this one! I've never actually had a bad time with the safety cans inside my car. But I think...

1.6 miles to gas station - drive it there?

I mess around with multiple 2 gallon yellow safety cans in my station wagon, and a funnel and sore back to get it into the tractor. My current tractor's small and slow and not equipped with any flashers or signage. But I'm seriously thinking about replacing it with an L2501, whose tank is much...

Considering L3250 with FEL and backhoe...?

I've wondered about that, too. I've looked at a few New Holland tractors and liked them (I don't remember any model numbers though). There was one very appealing small 4WD that was brand new and would have been somewhere around $24,000 with a loader -- not that I'm considering spending that...
