    Alternator for b7500. Identical wires

Seems like it would make a difference which one goes to positive and which to negative. Although the connectors going to the tractor are identical to each other as well. Hopefully it doesn't matter but I would like to be sure so I don't screw something up.

    Alternator for b7500. Identical wires

Hello and thanks for taking the time. I have a new alternator I need to install, but the wires and the connectors are identical, as are the wires coming from the tractor. Could someone help me determine which wire goes with which? Thanks, Robert

Yeah I figured that was from the voltage regulator

    Alernator pricing, choosing

Ok so here is the long version... Changed the battery 6 months ago. When I disconnected the old battery I hadn't noticed that the battery cables were the wrong colors. The negative was red and the positive was black. So when I installed the new battery I connected the cables incorrectly...

    Alernator pricing, choosing

In need of an alternator (dynamo?) for my b7500, and I see prices ranging from 69 up to 200+ and lots in between. I don't want to overpay nor do I want to have quality issues. If anyone can educate me on this would be much appreciated! Thanks Rob

    Slow blow fuse, battery replaced

Well the battery is indeed discharging when engine is not running. My understanding is that this could be due to either the alternator or the voltage regulator, the latter being a very difficult part to access (removing steering wheel and dash panel) so I pray ots not that. I guess I should take...

    Slow blow fuse, battery replaced

Red cable is bolted to chassis it turns out... go figure. Reversed cables and tractor starts. Black cable runs to starter. Will need to check the alternator for damage. Thanks everyone. I will redo these cables going forward.

    Slow blow fuse, battery replaced

Seems strange since I haven't messed with any thing else to have created a short. Any idea why the starter engaged with no engine turnover prior to the fuse blowing?

    Slow blow fuse, battery replaced

I changed a dead battery and ran into problems afterward. Initially tried to start, and nothing happened except a single click type of sound. Tried again and this time the starter motor spun with no engine turn over. Tried a third time and nothing happened. Slow blow fuse is blown. Put a new...
