Rim Guard ballast and rubber valve stems?

If you have rubber valve stems that are made for liquid and air they will work fine. If they are standard air only you may have future issues, depending on how well the brass core adheres to the rubber stem. This is what Rim Guard states on the issue.

Rim Guard ballast and rubber valve stems?

Had same issue with my BX when bought new, 2013. Dealer said no problem, Rimguard said they would fail, and they did 3 years later. Replaced with Colby Valve company extra short brass valve stems. I used Colby because they can be inserted without removing or breaking down the tire. Have had no...

    Measuring Chart

It appears some are missing the little + signs at the 1/3 and 2/3 cup areas. 1/3 cup is 1 teaspoon plus 5 tablespoons, 2/3 cup is 2 teaspoons plus 10 tablespoons. Easily overlooked in a quick glance ( or without our reading glasses:rolleyes::rolleyes:)

    Wheel slipping

I have the R4 tires, as for the current pressure I am unsure as the beet juice has ruined my tire gages (has stuck every one I used so only check visually now). As I recall when the tires were at the suggested pressure the top of the tires were flat across. They currently have enough pressure...

    Wheel slipping

I had the same problem with by BX rear tires. They are loaded with beet juice, this allowed slipping between the rim and tire at low or manual recommended air pressure. The beet juice kept the seal good enough that the tires never went flat. I kept increasing the air pressure until the slippage...

    BX Steering knuckle boots.

I've had them on my BX a couple of years now (approx. 500 hours) and no complaints. If I recall correctly they were an easy installation also.

Issues with valve stems with rim guard

I raised the rear of the tractor, taking the weight off the tires. Had to do this immediately as the core came out with the cap, spewing rimguard all over the driveway. ( I was able to save approximately half in the tire) I left the tires in place and rotated to 12 oclock position and cut off...

Issues with valve stems with rim guard

I had this happen on my BX with the rubber tubeless tire valve stems (OEM). I contacted Rimguard and was told these stems should have been replaced with brass stems when the tires were loaded. Rubber valve stems are for air only, liquids have a tendency to affect core/rubber vulcanization...

    L235 Valve Stem

They are called Colby Valves. I used them on my BX rear tires for 2 years now. The package states they fit most standard valve holes ( ,453 inch). Sure was a lot easier than removing and breaking down the tire.

    Leaking Beet Juice

I had a similar problem with my BX rear tires, rim guard leaked just enough to allow the rim to slip in the tire under heavy pull. Took a while to find this slippage as the rim guard also acted as a seal enough to keep the tires from going flat. I compounded the issue when removing the valve...

    OK Im gona whine

I found that a length of 6 inch stove pipe and a plastic Tomcat rat trap work well, don't even need to use any bait. I place the pipe in an area the chipmunks travel, set and place the trap inside the pipe, be sure to tie (wire) the trap to something secure ( I use a piece of rebar stuck in the...

    Lap Log

Having to load logs onto a flat trailer and stacking to max lift of my BX I made some log anti-rollback brackets . They are 3 x 3 angle iron and bolted to the side of the bucket with the fork mounting bolts (1/2 inch grade 8). I made the forks from old plow beams (they fit the bucket curve...

2782B snowblower: very disappointed in ability

From your pictures and comments it appears everything is operating as designed and it is the snow/ground conditions that are the cause. I have a BX with same style blower. It has the same issue blowing heavy snow when the ground isn't frozen yet. What works for me is to muddle my way thru one...

    arrgh and sigh...

I believe they are Kenda model K514 tires. I got them off ebay, $95each. Be sure to check the ply ratings close as they come in both 4 ply and 6 ply. I looked them up and the 6 ply is rated @ 36 psi and 1115 lb load. You may be correct that the 4 ply don't handle the load as I was moving a lot...
