    ZD21 HST Tear-Down & Rebuild

I think I figured out what all of the problem was. Going back to the beginning with the mower- along with the deck not moving and what I found draining the system- there was hydraulic fluid covering the right HST. Naturally, this concerned me greatly, because why would there be hydraulic...

    ZD21 HST Tear-Down & Rebuild

Well, I figured out what the grey rubbery substance was- gasket. Whoever had the mower previously tore down the right HST. It also appears to be leaking around the aforementioned gasket. Given this shody gasket job and the heater hose used in lieu of fuel line, I'm a little dismayed. Although...

    ZD21 HST Tear-Down & Rebuild

So, I've read all of the posts on here regarding the ZD21 and it's various issues. My mower's serial number is 59933- just missing the #59999 mark and likely to have HST issues. Upon getting the mower with no known history, I got it running and did a quick function check to see what worked and...

ZD21 Hydraulic Deck InOp and Won't Start With Key

Just about everything works on this mower I picked up that was basically left for scrap. The only issues I'm having right now are: the hydraulic cylinder for raising the deck has no power and the key won't start the mower. Are there any common issues/fixes regarding these problems? Thanks.

Working on seeing if she'll run, then will definitely inquire with the local dealer about the "tank".

The HST's in these mowers are apparently quite problematic. Nonetheless, I'm ecstatic about being the owner of a big, bad diesel mower.

    New Kubota Owner

Yesterday, I was able to pick up a 2004 Kubota ZD21 Diesel 60" off FB Marketplace for a steal. The guy selling it must've gotten it in an auction lot or something, because he didn't know anything about it- other than at some point "it wouldn't work". It appears to only have 301.6 hours. While I...
