B7100 Adding alternator to replace Dyno

Re: B7100 Adding alternator to replace Dyno ??? I'll bet an alternator from a motorcycle or similar vehicle would have worked. There is a 2001 Triumph Daytona 955I alternator for sale on Ebay for $70 bucks. Not sure what the output would be.

    Not gettin' it ??

Freewheel3, I adjusted the links and the deck now moves up and down hydraulically. The manual definitely needs some work in that area. Thanks again. Any chance you know of a fix for a sticking forward pedal ? It doesn't spring back to the neutral position from the forward position. Bill

    Not gettin' it ??

Freewheel3 I think you've got it. I see how the that linkage would keep the deck from raising. I will get out there tomorrow and re-pin the linkages. BTW the lift arms were partly lowered to take the picture. I'll keep you all posted on how it turns out. Thanks a bunch. Bill

    Not gettin' it ??

I have been working on my B7100 HST 4x4 and it is running perfectly so now the next stage. I have the 60 inch mower deck mounted in the mid section which works well but does not hydraulically lift up. I checked all the linkage connections and they seem fine. The 3 point hitch lower link lift...

Thanks, I'll be checking/replacing the glow indicator next. Bill

    Hard to start.

I am trying to figure out why my used "New-to-me" B7100 HST is hard to start when the engine is cold, even at 65-70 degrees air temp. I will turn on the preheat switch for up to 1 1/2 minutes with no success. The glow plug indicator on the dash does not glow at all even after two minutes of...

    Where is it ??

Today, I am going over my B7100-HST which I have owned for only a couple of months and I read the directions on cold starts. The book states to pull out the Decompression Knob which according to the book is to the right of the head light switch. I locate the head light switch and then to its...

    Single shank soil ripper

Wow, looks great I hope my B-7100 can pull like that. BTW, that picture can't be Kansas because I see a hill in the distance!! Beautiful state, just kidding. Have fun be safe. Bill

    What RPM?

I've been working on my B7100 HSTD and it's now back together, repaired radiator, new cap, new hoses, belt, blades along with an oil and filter change. I was wondering when the grass cutting season arrives what throttle position is best for mowing grass? Do these machine rely on high revs to...

    Tractor function.

Thanks, OkieDavid.... I think I'll go the adjustment route which will have to wait for a few days since we are under a winter storm warning until Friday night. Winter has finally arrived, I knew the mild weather couldn't last much longer. Bill

Glad to hear I'm not alone on this one. Thanks for the information. I'm sure I will have more to ask and to share ideas as I use the machine more and more. Bill

    Tractor function.

Got the new-to-me B7100 cleaned, greased and checked out the other day, then took it for a spin cutting some grass in my field. Its operation was very good, it ran smoothly and feels like a gutsy like tyke. Looks like I have a leak in the radiator but it never overheated so I will check that out...

Good info guys thanks. I blew out the radiator fins today and the engine compartment but neither was really dirty then greased all fittings and lubed various other moving parts. Does anyone use synthetic oil in their tractor engine if so what brand ? I'm thinking Rotella T6 diesel oil at this...

    Quirks

Hello to all, I have just purchased a diesel B7100 HST 4WD with 973 hours on it. The tractor was always under a roof and it was maintained very well. It came with a belly mower, small grader blade and a 3 pt hitch finishing mower. I have owned my farm for 25 years and have several tractors and...
