    Hi Lmichael I'm trying to get a tach signal out of a new alternator for my L4150 but not confident in making the right connection as you did. Any chance you took a picture of where you soldered the signal wire to obtain the square wave?

    Thanks Mark_BXD25. I would love to get all the original gauges on the dash working but it doesn't seem realistic. Since the tach is mechanical, it has to be the head unit. I can't find on on the web. Both the fuel and temp gauges don't work properly and I've run the diagnostics in the repair...

    L4150 Lost Oil Pressure

    Sorry I never got back on this. I pulled the oil pressure sender and sure enough, it spouted oil. Turned out the aftermarket mechanical gauge had quit. thanks everyone for your time and suggestions. I feel a bit foolish.

    Thanks so much. I'll definitely give both sides of the block a good close look and let you know what I find. BTW I've never encountered a freeze plug that did not seal off a water passage. Never knew that they were also used for oil passages.

    Wolfman - I have to admit I don't know what/where the oil port pressure port is. Are you talking perhaps about removing the Comp Relief Valve at the filter or should I be looking somewhere else?

    Today I installed a new relief valve and o ring, changed the oil and put on a Kubota filter. Had high hopes but still no oil pressure. Should I drop the pan next?

    Thanks Steve. I'm afraid it's not a sensor since the secondary oil pressure gauge I installed is not electric and has worked fine until this occurred. Engine oil is full although looks dirty. I will change oil & filter but still afraid to run it any more until I figure out what happened...

    Hello all. Looking for some wisdom. I was mowing much of the day yesterday with my L4150 and everything fine. Then in the early evening I noticed the oil pressure light come on. I also have installed a gauge that also read zero. What could have happened? (The engine still ran).
