    No electrical power

Yes sir...I understand, I tell people when I do it, "it's not the age, it's the mileage!!!"

    No electrical power

As above and already posted the OP said "hot" battery was not referring to the actual temperature, but rather just that it was fully charged and good to go battery.

    No electrical power

Just went thru the same symptoms with my tractor...bogging down then cutting off and zero power everything dead. Suggest you verify power to the ignition switch. Sounds just like mine, lost connection to the switch. Switch could be bad also. If no power to the switch then look up line, could be...

    MX5000 completely dead...need help

Thank you sir, I am too....been out of the mechanical field for too long and it only took me several days to stumble upon the problem. The only good thing for me is that I wasn't the only one stumped, so I don't feel too bad. M

    MX5000 completely dead...need help

Once upon a time I was J-Std-2000 certified and I still have my crimpers. I agree that there's a little more to soldering correctly and that using the crimpers are easier to get a good connection. I do like the ability to be able to seal up the connection and lock out moisture and contaminants...

    MX5000 completely dead...need help

I just so happened to have the correct female spade to do this, but prior to finding it I was seriously considering taking all four wires and soldering them together, and doing away with the connector. I mean 6 inches away the wires all lug to the back of the switch, so it's not like you really...

    MX5000 completely dead...need help

Yes sir!!! This particular switch comes with its own attached wiring harness that's about 6 or 7 inches long with a "molex" like quick connector. Strange that the wire never fell out when I changed the switch, then again the wires are all taped together right up to the connector so it kind of...

    MX5000 completely dead...need help

I am happy to report that the end of the big mystery is here!!!! While double checking the ignition switch I noticed when I was moving it around the dash indicator lights blinked momentarily. It was in the run position and I was lucky enough to see an arc at back of the wiring harness connector...

    MX5000 completely dead...need help

Thanks a million for all the replies fellas, it is greatly appreciated. Today I checked and verified ALL grounds, connections and cables. Every one of them, unless I missed something, is fine. Looking at the wiring diagram {strange that it doesn't show a 40 amp main fuse, which I replaced...

    MX5000 completely dead...need help

I will carefully check both battery cables tomorrow. It has to be something stupid like that because this thing went from running perfect one day to cold stone dead over night. Strange that it has 13.1 volts at the ignition switch though. If I read from terminal to terminal I get 13.1v, same...

    MX5000 completely dead...need help

Yes sir, best I can tell there are four that I am aware of, the neutral start, the PTO, the seat and that time delay relay. All are capable of preventing the tractor from starting. All are bypassed at this time and it still is dead. Unless there is another one I am not aware of/didn't find...

    MX5000 completely dead...need help

I understand the importance of a good ground. I also understand that a VOM can show continuity. but the device will still not work. It doesn't take much of a contact to show continuity and it does take a good contact to carry amps. This thing is completely dead, just as if the positive lead was...

    MX5000 completely dead...need help

I believe the electrical issue is more than just a bad of faulty connection, because there is no power to activate anything. If it was just a bad connection I would think the dash lights would light and/or the glow plug relay would at least click or the indicator light would glow or blink...

    MX5000 completely dead...need help

I jump started another vehicle {don't have an actual load tester, but I'd say that will do it} and I verified ground connection with a VOM. I did in fact clean the ground connection too. I will begin with the wires in the am and post what I do or do not find. Thank you for the reply sir!!!
