    Soooo Booored !!

Thanks for all of the feedback. Couple of things I need to work on moving forward. One, is outdoor work space I can heat in any weather. This will likely be my house garage as insulating / heating the pole barn was would be a huge undertaking. Two, I need to upgrade my " Basement Hobbies...

    Soooo Booored !!

Good ideas fellas. Just got back from a work day out. Unfortunately, many work days are at home ( which I hate ). I think I'm spoiled as we can generally get out of the house during the winter here in MO. One more day of cold and it breaks. I may, however, look at a Play Station or whatever...

    Soooo Booored !!

I do hit the public library a couple nights a week and read papers. There a couple of hours. -1 F and windy currently. Typically, we don't have this weather so I don't have insulated / heated sheds. Currently, it's 19 in my attached garage with two sides to the house!

    Soooo Booored !!

We're in day 9 of the cold snap. One really needs a good reason to be outside longer than the time it takes to shuttle from the truck to the door. ( no livestock here ). I'm going crazy. My wife would love me to find somewhere else to stir about. Even my go to back up which is high school...

Good Call. I'll research this process. Thank you!

    Driveway Gate Rehab / Redo

Thanks for the feedback. I think the current gate will weigh in at around 70 lbs. I don't think we get much of a ground freeze around here. A few could night a year but lots of 40s and 50s all winter long. The overhead cross brace would be a solid / quality solution but that would bring in a...

    Driveway Gate Rehab / Redo

I have a driveway gate which is functional but is on my project list for this winter. The 16' tube gate is in fine condition and I plan on reusing it. The post are not plumb and need to be reset or more likely, replaced. I also would like to install a solar opener with a lock option...

    400 Hr Service

My L3130 was sold new in 2006. I think they had this run for 3-4 years. The manual has the same two options.

    400 Hr Service

My L3130 just hit 400 hrs. I priced up the cost of the recommended parts for a DIY 400 hr service from my local Kubota dealer and I'm looking at >$600 for filters and fluids. I'm tempted to go off brand but then, it will be a while until the next service. Anyone have thoughts Kubota brand vs...

Solar Install for the Pole Barn

JCHonline, You make some valid points. This is an auxiliary location for me and not a full time shop. I know it will have limitations. On the DC to AC to DC comment. Very true and I was wondering if I could just hook the two boat batteries directly to the two solar system batteries. I...

Solar Install for the Pole Barn

Your build from past threads is what gave me the idea. ( thank you ) I haven't wired my barn to date. I'll put that on the " to do " list.
