I just changed mine to Peak. I used prestone in my 6.2 truck and had to have the radiator rodded out to repair it.

    Starter Problem

You will be able to see the teeth...there should not be any missing...The gap is where it gets bad.The face of the teeth can be faced with a file to true it up and make the new bendix engage easier.

How long to warm up before using ?

That hard hammering when cold is the pistons trying to warm up and adjust to the cylinders...There is slack in the cylinder when cold, or else it would sieze up when running hot. Gagging a cold diesel is expensive, and it puts more fuel into the crankcase and oil...Cooling off on turbo equipment...

    Winter Oil

Hang in there Bulldog. There are always conflicts, that's why they call it Life. the guys at the Hyundai shop said that " Synthetic oil is not necessary" < we will just have to see about that fact. I know my Camry climbed 2 mpg, from Syn. in the motor and frontdrive gear-box. I will just have...

Do you change out the coolant?

You bet ya, Some diesels tranfer sulfur from the fuel to the coolant and engine oil...This can be caught in it and can cause wear on your freeze plugs and other parts. You are not saving that money, by not servicing it.Plus what does a water pump cost for your rig? legal diclaimer. Jy.

    Using front-end loader for lifting

This is a great site to learn from. I don't have a Homedepot within 30 miles, but a Lowes is in town 8miles so.For the hooks, I might have an old chain, that can part with one, but I am going to use a second grabber type, welded beside it. I know those wheel nuts and bolts will be coming in...

    Torque values on D1503 engine--L3000DT

I am attempting an 750 hr inspection on this engine, I don't have the torque values on checking the head bolt torque, or on tightening the valve cover back on. I am going to inspect the breather vent and would like to check the tappet clearances since I am in there, if i can get the values here...

    Using front-end loader for lifting

Very good point about placement. I had noticed the bucket span laps the front by almost a foot. I had wanted a 5 foot, but it did not happen that way..I may just try one in the center, and a piece of angle welded to the back with it? That is for, when I finish my checkup on the engine. JY.

    Using front-end loader for lifting

Speaking of nuts, what is the opinion on locktite?Or would you rather use nylocks, but they are expensive and not in metric ? I have many missing fasteners, especially on the wheels,on my newly aqquired rig?I know my Chevy diesel Pu ate and shook bolts all down the highway, with the use of...

    Using front-end loader for lifting

Bulldog, Thanks for the photos of the bucket. The bucket I have is simular, but the idea of the reinforcing plates for the hooks was a nice touch, and I can get the welding done and bolt them on. Details, I see you used grade 8 bolts, strongest available, good safety tip.JY.
