fuel additives yes or no ?

Like several others i am a believer in using Power Service in winter or anytime i think the tractor is pushing enough black to indicate dirty injectors. It is arguable as to whether it is needed due to cold weather and gelling. Todays fuels are to be blended for cold weather. Here is the...

Ever see someone you don't know...

I have long believed the true measure of a man was not doing what comes easily but have the will to do the things that were challenging. I'd say this man is a giant.

    New tiller

G-Man, never doubted for aq minute yours was made by king kutter. Hodge thanks for the assurance. I've found two B 6200's in the area for sale. One has 675 hrs(this one is privately owned and have not yet got an appointment to see it) and the other 882 hrs(this one is a dealer but was at...

How to lift Mower deck discharge deflector

I have done both, use a bungee Cord and taken off the deflector. Out on my acreage most of my mowing is a long ways from anything. But then again they call it a deflector because it will deflect objects down into the ground instead of sailing great distances and hitting someone or something. My...

    New tiller

I was reading about another brand of tiller on another site(Iowa Equipment) and they had a model with the 4 tines that claimed to be aimed at the lower horsepower tractors. Claiming that the 4 tines took less horsepower to operate? I'm looking at a B6200 this week and am wondering if it would...

Some help from some WOOD WORKERS

I'll second that! A tub of Johnsons paste wax is just a couple dollars and will last forever. The problem with WD 40 is it has some silicone in it and you will play heck getting a finish on anything that has gotten silicone on it or into the pores.

How hard is it to find a tiller to work with a counterclockwise pto?

I ask because I ran across a nice B6000 with woods Rm 590 mower at a fair price. But I really need a tiller in my 7000 sq ft ever expanding garden

    B6200 2 wd

Eric your doing some good work with that little machine. I can understand your needing a bigger machine to improve production. And there is defineately a place for having both a small oneto get into tight spaces, which you have and a larger one for the more open areas. I more or less grew up...

    B6200 2 wd

Well Hodge & Kubotasam, you have reinforced my suspicions. And Eric, now you just confused me more.:). Your opinion is valued and it is an option to consider. Growing up on 50's era Row Crop tractors, I have no concept of the capabilities of Compact tractors in this class. And yes I learned to...

    B6200 2 wd

The local Kubota Dealer has a B6200 2 WD in pretty good condition with ag tires for $3100. I have 8.9 acres, and primary use would be gardening. I have over 6,000 Sq feet in garden(and expanding), this year using a rear tine walking tiller. Along with that would be mowing maintaining a 1300 ft...

    Any Beekeepers here?

The guy that got me started had a hive in his garage with an entry port through the wall, in an older part of town where the homes were very close together. He put an 8 ft wooden fence aroud the back of his garage to train the bees to fly up and out of the enclosure. His neighbors never knew it...

    Any Beekeepers here?

I did it for a few years , then moved and had no place to keep them and got out. Now that I'm back on an acreage, I plan to get back in next spring. Still have some equipment stored. Like you I got into it on a whim and found it one my more rewarding endeavors. You have gotten good advice...

what diesel additives do you use?

Eric: being way down south, you would rarely need a fuel additive except to clean dirty injectors. While I don;t have a Kubota yet, I put 200,000 miles on a VW Rabbit Diesel. Two things I did to keep it running flawlessly, ! buy all my fuel in a truck stop that got tankers in daily, and use...

Any reason 'NOT' to stud tires?

The laws and regs vary a lot form state to state. So you should check locally. If you run your tractor on the road there could be a problem, unless you can afford two sets of wheels and tires. In Iowa you can only run studs on the road from October 30th - April 1. They set this up to reduce...
