    Need info on the L200

That was my thread that I started when I rebuilt my L200 this past summer. Here are a few things to consider before purchasing; 1.What new parts that are left are very expensive. 2.The tractor gearing is very low. This tractor was designed for plowing and hard pulling. For general everyday...

I finished my carry all build

Yes it's exactly one mile from my main house to the front gate. Previously with my golf cart only carrying one garbage can at a time, it was a 4 mile round trip in the morning and another 4 mile round trip to pick them up. My poor electric golf cart was getting pretty tired by then. Hopefully...

I finished my carry all build

I'll probably paint it Kubota gray after the PT wood dries out in a few months.

I finished my carry all build

I pretty much followed the DIY My Way video series on the design & construction. I made it full size of 60 inches to accommodate carrying my two large garbage cans at the same time down the 1 mile trek to the front gate each week. That sure saves my aching back trying to lift them up high into...

    Kubota L200 Rebuild

Well I managed to get the tractor finished and running well. I split it and replaced the clutch assembly and now everything works like it should. That's about it for this rebuild thread, and I do appreciate all of the folks who helped and encouraged me through the process! Bud

    Kubota L200 Rebuild

I just have the old plugs back in the holes for the moment to get the engine running. I will need to buy new ones eventually when it gets colder later this year.

    Kubota L200 Rebuild

No. I got them to free up from the cylinders using vinegar. Then I honed the surface rust clean while the piston was moved to the bottom of the stroke. After a thorough cleaning they seem to be in fairly good shape. I lapped the valves and put it back together and fired it up.

    Kubota L200 Rebuild

Welp...It runs!! As a matter of fact it runs pretty nicely too! Hard to believe that just 7 days ago this was a rusted relic frozen very tight with water damage, and now it sits there idling like a kitten. LOL Very little blow-by and no strange noises coming from the front gear box. I let it...

    Fall Colors

It's 94 degrees outside here still in Texas. I do love seeing the beautiful fall colors from the trees up there in the North East. Someday I hope to be able to see that in person and feel a real Fall for once.

    Kubota L200 Rebuild

Today I re-assembled the valves back into the head after honing them with some valve lapping compound. I'm currently waiting on a new head gasket to arrive sometime next week before I install the head back on to the block. In the meantime I saw just a light coating of surface rust on the inside...

    Kubota L200 Rebuild

At anywhere from $700 to $2000 for one liner if you can even find one, that ain't happening here. I've already honed the liners and they are in good shape. The rust was only in one cylinder and it turned out to be mainly surface rust. I see no problems re-using them now.

    Kubota L200 Rebuild

As promised, here are some photos of each side of the one piece crankcase. It looks like there is an inspection panel on the right side, but to remove the crank would require splitting the tractor and pretty much disassembling the entire engine. One thing I have learned from reading about other...

    Kubota L200 Rebuild

Lord only knows I have some muddy spots on the ranch that's just like a rice paddy. LOL I'll take some photos of the block arrangement later today for everyone's amusement

    Kubota L200 Rebuild

I'll try to get some photos of the crankcase later today. I may be wrong, but a quick look shows no separate oil pan. Apparently to remove the crank, you have to pull it out from the rear of the motor which seems like a huge pain in the rear. Pun intended. Thanks for the compliment on my little...

    Kubota L200 Rebuild

Today I finally got the pistons unstuck. I tried ATF/acetone, PB Blaster, and then finally vinegar. The vinegar did the trick after soaking about 3 or 4 hours. There is some pretty serious rust in one cylinder, but I will try to dissolve most of it if possible and the followed by a honing with a...
