    L3800 engine knock

Has anyone noticed a knock at 2000rpms? My L3800 has 90 hours, been serviced twice once by dealer and only used for bucket work up to 1700 Rpms since that's all I ever needed for power . The other day I accidentally hit the throttle above 1700 Rpms and noticed a knock or what appears to be...

    Is your FEL bucket level?

I had the same issue, pressure was the same in both rears. Turned out to be slight difference in tire size during manufacturing and the dealer swapped the tires which involved dismounting from the wheels and reloading them. Dealer stood behind it and that solved the problem.. Good luck and let...

what is the purpose of bolt head with rivet hanging down underneath L3800

I was told by the dealer mechanic that to drain any water/moisture from the bell housing area you push it up. I guess it acts as a 1 way valve......

    L3800 FEL adjustment?

I had the same problem with mine and it ended up being slight difference in the size of the rear tires from the factory. This threw me a little but as the dealer explained they are not like the radials on your car and a slight difference from one side in the rear can add up and show more at the...

Cold Weather Start Up of L3800

I had this happen to mine a few times with under 60 hours. Dealer replace seat switch under warrantee but turned out to be the hst pedal linkage in need of lubrication. Pedal is very sensitive to position. I spray mine with WD40 every once in a while, no issues since. Hope this helps....

    L3800 Tractor tire defects???

Just an update. I got my tractor back from the dealer and the loader is perfect. As trivial as it was all they had to do was swap tires and the machine set as level as can be.. Still has an issue with the seat safety switch, a new one is on order for install.

    L3800 Tractor tire defects???

I agree that 1/4" is nothing major...dealer suggested changing tires. Concrete is level as can be and how I determined the difference was by placing 4ft level on ROPS, main loader upright the measure the bucket cutting edge as it touches the ground. I need to talk with the dealer, rather get...

    L3800 Tractor tire defects???

Got a quick question. Ever since I took delivery of my l3800 I have notice that the entire tractor is 1/4 inch lower on the right side. Initially I was concerned something was bent but the dealer is telling me it is probably variation in the rear tires. Dealer came to my residence, checked...

    Front plow hydraulics

Just contemplating building a plow for myl3800 and wondering how difficult/expensive it is to modify the front hydraulics to accommodate two angle cylinders. I will be modifying an existing Fisher plow to my quick attach and the plow is outfitted with the angling cylinders. I have looked at...

Hey Vic, There are alot of different opinions on the 50hr service and i was wondering your personal opinion for this service for an L3800. The dealer is saying there is no need to change out the hydro fluid, only the filters at 50hrs like the manuals recommend. There argument is that the in...

    Safety switch?..

Thanks for the info, I tried flipping the seat up and the tractor stays running like it is suppose to. I guess that leaves the pedal adjustment since the safety switches seem to be doing their job. I will let he dealer figree it out since it is a warranty item. Thanks.

    Safety switch?..

Got a question for you all. I have an l3800 with around 50hrs on it and am trying to isolate the switch that is causing the engine to shut down before I have the dealer here for the 50 service. Here's the scoop. I typically start up my tractor and let it warm up before putting it to work...

    L3800 oily exhaust residue

Just wanted to update everyone, been busy playing with my l3800.....You guys were correct, as soon as the air temps increased and I would work the machine for more than 30 minutes at a time the slobber cleared up. Extremely happy with the l3800, amazing what you can do with it. :)

    L3800 oily exhaust residue

Thanks guys for the advice. If it ends up being an issue with the engine at only 20hrs I will not be a happy camper, it may prompt a trade for JD.. I need to work the machine more getting it up to operating temp for an extended period and rule out the whole "condensation" theory. This...
