I made a simple one from 2” square tube and a hitch receiver. It goes vertical from a ssqa plate. Simple hook and non telescoping so far.

Same problem here. I labeled a box ‘ROPS’ and set it on the garage floor when I put them up. Seems like a good reminder.

I’m new to this, but have the same problem. Careful pressure on the stick dampens the drop speed. Hard to get it just right, but manageable if you aren’t in a hurry.
