Hi-

Doing my annual deck maintenance and noticed that the idler pulley appears to be missing a grease fitting on the top. That said, I’m not sure there has ever been one, though the hole appears to be threaded…so now I’m curious; should there be one and if so, anyone know the size?

Deck is a RCK48-18BX and as far as I know it’s original to my 2012 BX1860.

Thanks for any help!

I don't know about your deck but the manual for my RCK54 shows a grease zerk on top of the idler pulley and one on the tension arm.

Yes, there should be a grease fitting on that pulley. Take the one off of the other pulley and see if it screws in properly on that pulley. If it does, go get one at your nearest location that sells them. Make sure you take the old one with you to get the proper size.

There is a grease zert on that pulley my RCK48-18BX deck; and it’s shown in the manual as a grease point…see the circled 2 in the attachment.

Ok, thanks for confirming guys. Not sure what happened to it, but I don’t remember there being one in that location since I got the BX. No play in the pulley so I’ll thread in a new fitting and grease it up.

Install a 90-degree zerk, not a straight one.
