I am looking to buy one and any advice would be appreciated.
These range in price from $10 up to the sky.
Thank you.

Be well. Tractor on.

Is that something for the guy who has everything? I can’t really imagine why one would be needed.

I cut and store firewood.

Had a couple trees fall and trying to figure out a way to store the splits and rounds for best results.

One tree appeared to be dead, the other, not.

I own the $10 version bought on Amazon. I works great.
Same - I found I used it a lot at first for the knowledge and maybe the novelty? I am on Arboristsite wood burning forum and went with one of the recommendations over there (cheap but decent).

It is pretty good if you have a lot of wood you don't keep track off and note that sampling/testing technique is a factor w/ any of them. I find that the look, weight and feel of any given split or round is best. Of course, wood type, storage conditions, and weather are wild variables in my neck of the woods :p

There are several loggers local here that sell klin dried firewood.
I've heard there is a certain 'content' of moisture where they can sell it as dried from the kiln.
Of course it costs money to dry it. So they want it right at whatever the rule says it's dry.
I don't own a meter but it would be cool to have. I might go look during Amazon days.
