Interested in buying a WC1503 chipper. We have the same BX2680 tractor. Did you sell your chipper? Can you tell me how well it worked on your tractor.

I bought a LandPride WC1504 instead of a WC1503 chipper to use on my BX2370 and it works very well as long as I don't try to chip something larger than about 2-1/2". If you want to be able to chip branches with lots of Ys, the most important chipper characteristic is the chipper inlet opening. The WC1503 only has a 6"x3" opening whereas the WC1504 has a much larger 10'x4" opening. Obviously you cannot chip 4" diameter material with a BX, but the larger opening makes it much easier to feed branches thru.

Thanks for your advice. I almost got a WoodMaxx last year but hesitated. It had a hydraulic feed; my BX’s PTO HP of 19 was towards the minimum requirement. Rep said it needed green material for lubrication; I’ve got 5 acres of old, dead, dry stuff from a wildfire in 2017. I backed out.

The ability to use the PTO was the initial appeal. Then, I could use my BX the other 3 seasons, and not have her be a hangar queen, awaiting snow. Sounds as if I should just rent a big chipper occasionally as I have 3-5” trunks.

You supplied just what I wanted-real feedback on the LP chipper using only a BX.
