Yeah,....but I am envious of your M62.
Friend who knows nothing about such stuff, asked me to buy him a used M62 back in Sept.
I found him a really nice one, with 295 (not rental) hours, and with a thumb ($63,500).
The M62 has 17.58 ' reach.
I want one!
They"re awesome great investment, that said, personally I'd be pretty damn happy with an L48, is that what you said you had with a thumb, not sure how much more TLB the M62 is than what you have... Call your local Kubota dealer and ask if they have any rental inventory ones for sale. I found mine that way, they'd just done the 50 hour service and I got it for $55,692. That's why it didn't have a thumb, if I'd custom bought it i'd have added it but most rentals don't have thumbs. Also keep an eye on Richie Bros Auctions, they have them now and then, same with equipment trader.

I appreciate the advice.....but....
I am well into my 8th decade, so there will be no more tractors for me.
On investment advice, you are absolutely correct!
I bought my 251 hour L48 in 2019, from the original owner, for $32K ( I had a Ford TLB for 33 years prior)
From what I can tell, on the used market, it is likely worth at least $10K more now.

She is my big baby, and is currently tucked in and asleep for the Winter, with her two older Ford stall mates, while I vegetate in Florida..

but it is so amazing how much better the excavator is than the backhoe on the tractor...almost no comparison...but until you know, you don't know...maybe better not to know.
@Henro , it's obvious what you're saying here and you're absolutely right. You're comparing the backhoe on a tractor to an excavator and the difference in the ability of a backhoe to do excavator type work. You couldn't have been any more clear, but I guess your point was lost on some.

Send that white stuff north please. It's been a very dry and mild winter so far.

Joshua trees and light snow last night narrows the location down quite a bit!

Looks like my old stomping grounds. Mojave Desert.

FINALLY! Glad to see some pics with snow!

I may live in the desert but we have nearly a foot on the ground right now:

Great photos! There's something incongruous about those trees with the snow.
I prefer them like this.. the bitches are sharp and I'm forever walking into their low hanging branches and piercing my head like a spaghetti strainer.
