How did you mount your fire extinguisher?

I have mine currently mounted to the ROPS with this mount. branches and brush keep pulling the pin for me. I’d like a more solid mount near the seat.

That has to be an experience - having the FE go off without knowing it!

That bags seems to have it covered up pretty well - how the heck does it pull the pin in the bag?

The pin is missing but it doesn’t discharge unless the lever is depressed. it is a 2.5 lbs extinguisher and the top sticks out.

Put mine on the tabs on the back of the seat.
(seat is facing rear for BH use)

I push the metal pull pin thru a small piece of 1/4” rubber on the back side to help retain it.

Excellent mounting idea.

BUT: ....Cheap big box store extinguisher.

Plastic valve head, and plastic discharge lever are TERRIBLE ideas!

The plastic valve/lever will snap/break when you REALLY need it!
Sun and age are the enemies of cheap black plastic parts.

I have an aluminum head replacement, just haven't been where the tractor is to change it out.

Besides, a plastic head extingisher is better than no extinguisher. :)

"A plastic head extinguisher is better than no extinguisher"....... until it isn't ...... and you are left holding a broken plastic handle in your hand.
..........While the fire rages on.

Had that happen once- extinguisher out of pressure, handle cracked when I tried to use it; twisted off & unscrewed the head and threw/sprinkled powder until fire was out. 🧯

You can change plastic valve to aluminum type..... without discharging extinguisher?

you drilled two holes into the loader arm ?
Lol. End of times. We just had a two page thread on mounting a cane to an FEL. A hole in the FEL was determined to either be de minimus or nearly reducing the tractor to scrap.

It’s worse than that. I’ve ordered the same mount for myself. Probably mount it the same place and way (thanks @Flintknapper, lots of good ideas to plagiarize here, and some to stay away from). Anyone want a nearly totaled tractor in a month or so?

Well, actually, I’m going to see how I like it mounted on the outside of my Kolpin basket, probably on the right end. I do try to avoid modifications that are permeant, but I design them so they can be unless I undo it, in which case you won’t likely be able to tell.

No.

The loader 'Mount'. Its HUGE and very thick.

So, yes.....I drilled and tapped (2) 1/4"-20 holes in the FEL 'Mount' and bolted it on there.
Danger......!
Please tell me .....it ain't really so! 😭

Top up the insurance and hope that if it does catch fire it's outside and away from the barn...
Well the mount showed up today, so give me a bit and I’ll see what can be done. I did burn up a pickup down at the barn about 15 yrs ago. And I was worried for the tractor.
