Trying to order an Everything Attachments Grapple...
They need to know what fittings I want....
So.... finally was able to get the part number off the fitting on my current grapple, a Safeway SH25-14P, female.
EA sez they don't know what that is... sez call my dealer. I hate my dealer but swallowed hard and the guy just told me I didn't know what I was talking about EA needed to know about the fitting on the tractor.... ok but I can't read the part number and if the one on my current grapple fits the tractor then if EA uses the same fitting should work right? They are telling me no... then EA emails me a chart which basically is of industry standards. Pretty frustrated right now! Anybody buy from EA that might know how to come up with what they want? The guy at EA is as bad as my dealer! I do know some about hydraulic fittings having worked at a machine tool builder years ago... also I think my logic is correct, if someone has ideas where I am wrong tell me I just want to order my wicked grapple and rip and tear brush and trees! Yeah been a frustrating day! Thanks...

When I bought my EA wicked grapple, the guy asked for coupler numbers (Faster 2NV12-12SAEM 1710) which I sent to him along with pics of the couplers. EA said, “Great, those are 1/2””. Shipped my grapple & I have been using it. You might try sending some good pics to EA. I know they just want to get the grapple to you with the proper couplers.

Those are 1/4 inch body size Safeway SH20 series couplers. They are poppet valve couplings and accept Safeway SH21 tips. They interchange with Parker/Brunig SM and Eaton/Aeroquip FD48 series couplers.

Don't get stressed and frustrated over this. You can place the order immediately and then follow up with an email or phone call to Travis once you know what fittings you need. With long lead times it's not like they need the information today. That was how my order went last year.

I went thru the same issue when I ordered my EA grapple. They emailed me this chart, and when printed out it is actual size for the couplings. I just matched up the coupling to the chart and all went well. I received my grapple and it hooked up without incident.

edit: went back in my paperwork, my tractor third function was the bottom of the page ISO7241-1 series B in a 3/8 size. That is what my dealer had installed when the tractor was delivered. Yours may be different but you still should be able to match it to the chart.

@milanmark, 15 seconds of Google searching provides the information that you need and pretty much what @TheOldHokie stated above. Seriously, search using the part number you found and it's all there.

Email Travis and include the link above and ask him what he suggests you should do. Maybe change the fittings on your 3rd function to typical Kubota standards if you're not going to keep your existing grapple.
You can probably change out the old for less than the cost of additional SM couplers. They are rather pricey.

I've had the local Kubota dealer install the 3rd function option on four tractors and they've all come with 1/2" Ag couplers. The Land Pride snow blade, EA grapple and even the used auger I bought recently all use that common size and type. So if the OP decides to swap out the fittings on his 3rd function I'd suggest 1/2" Ag couplers.

The factory couplers on the loader are 3/8" body size and ISO 7241-B. (Faster HNV series). .The tractor has a max implement flow around 4.7 GPM and a 3/8 coupler is more than adequate. A 3/8 7241zB coupler is what I would suggest for the third function - its physically compact and keeps everything on the loader consistent.

My L3901 with a 6.8 GPM flow uses the same couplers on the LA525 loader. Save the 1/2 inch AG couplers for 3pt implements.

Makes a lot of sense. I looked through some photos I have of the BX25D. These photos were taken the day I picked it up after having the 3rd function installed. I can't tell if the fittings are 3/8" or 1/2" but either way you make a good point. I can't believe how tiny the BX is (was).

I would usve guessed 1/4 inch. Thats what Kubota used on their backhoes.
