Jumpering into an existing circuit may not be a good idea.

If you are adding a new 'circuit' (for example lighting)...you should also add a new fuse to support that new circuit.

If you are thinking of something more sophisticated (like lighting which only works with the key ON)... you first need to procure a wiring diagram and understand how you will go about that. You may need to add a relay to handle the current depending on the load.

Also be aware - a fuse is intended to protect the WIRING (from overheating)... .not to protect the load.

Didn't report on devices or amps needed. I chose to add my own electrical box and give me the option to use a small winch occasionally.

I am adding a horn & relay. I planned on using the existing fuse box, if it is possible to add a fused circuit to it. I have both Repair and Parts manuals, for the tractor and the wiring diagrams suck.

Consider the "Add a Circuit' device to add a new circuit to your existing fuse box.

You remove a fuse, plug in the adaptor, insert your original fuse in a specific place in the adapter, connect your new wiring to the adapter and add desired sized fuse in its special place in the adapter.

Not for every job and not for every one but a simple solution for many jobs.

For a horn with relay... obviously the 'high current' line from the battery + thru the relay that powers the horn needs a fuse as close to the B+ source as possible.

For the 'pick line' to the relay from the horn button... this can be safely added to the fused side of an existing circuit.

From my looking around, today's electric horns draw 5-6 amps and some are advertised as not needing a relay. A 10 amp fuse is recommended.

Thanks Dave. Wasn't aware of this adapter. Will make power supply much easier.

Great suggestions and really helpful. I'm looking to do the same on my car, so this will serve as a guide! I actually found car installations for electrical issues to be very costly in my area in comparison with the electrical upgrades but you can easily fix in the house for a fraction of the price. It's astounding to me, but it is what it is. When I had to change my old cables in the house I used https://bates-electric.com/ mainly due to the fact that they come very fast when you ask them to, so I didn't have to take an extra day off from work just for that.
