Replacing tie rod boots, are they standard sizes?

Anyone replace just the boots on the tie rods? They look like generic boots, I'm just unsure of the size and haven't had a chance to measure mine yet. The joints on mine are perfectly fine and still tight, the boots are just ripped. Example picture of what I have on my BX2200.

I just replaced the inner tie rod ends on my L48. I think they were probably fine, except the boots were shot. It appears they only make boots for the BX machines. Has anyone seen them for other machines? Also, I would like to replace the boots on the outer tie rod ends, as they are pretty shot as well. Anyone heard of replacement boots for the outer tie rod ends?

I'm honestly surprised no one has made a "guard" to protect them. Kubota Engineers have some pretty wonky designs. Why they would not make the cylinder shafts and tie-rods, inline and line-up, is dumb.

Too much Sake.

I was thinking more along the lines, covering from where the tie-rod connects to the hub< >to behind the boots, but the cover protecting the cylinder is a plus.

I did aftermarket boots on my BX years ago. An OTT member at the time offered them.

I think he was an eBay seller also, and may be the one @85Hokie linked.

They’re still on my tractor and were just fine a couple weeks ago when I checked them.👍

I wrapped mine with old inner-tube and secured it with safety-wire wrapped around the ends holding it closed, leaving the exit of the rubber-wrap facing down so as to not catch junk and water. Been great for 5 years now. Cost: Zip ( old inner tube, remember?)

Whatever does the job best for the money. The inner tube protects more and lasts longer, IMO, but if you‘ve got $15 for a little piece of rubber that will get torn off again soon…

(and, oh yeah…. One Size inner tube fits All) :ROFLMAO:
