Help finding a mechanic in Connecticut

I did my L345dt. left the loader on, it helped steady the front while I rolled the rear section on a floor jack. I disconnected the loader from the rear axle only. I had to brace the motor up good so it couldn't move.

B7300 won't start -- Newbie needs some help.

That screw next to the fuel shut off on the filter looks like it is the air bleeder for when you replace the filter. Back it out and fuel should come out when the petcock is open, tighten it up as the fuel is coming out with no air.Now you will know which way the petcock is open.

    L2550 spun a rod bearing

I got my parts back from the machine shop and new parts. Does anyone know of a website or book I can get to help me put this thing together? I have torques but I like to also have other info.

    L2550 spun a rod bearing

Update, I got a call from the machine shop this week. The bore got honed out, (STD), the crank is now .2mm. He said to put new pistons and new rings, along with .2mm bearings. I am leaning towards getting Kumar BrosUSA parts, found them on Ebay. Does anyone have experience with them? Are they...

o-ring seal replacement for injector pump

Mr Mike, what happened when you remove the pump? I ask because I removed mine and sent the block and crank to the machine shop for work. I thought pull it out and put it back the same way and I would be OK, am I to expect issues when I go to put the engine back together?

    LA682 Cylinder Rebuild

I don't know were to get a good picture other then taking some yourself. They are really quite simple, just pay attention which way the seals are facing and put them back the same way. You want to find out what the torque is on the bolt or nut depending on which you have and loctite it. I been...

    Glow plugs

I don't know what is causing it but my l48 doesn't start like it used too either. Before I would turn the key and the glow plugs light would light up on the dash then go off, I turn the key more and it would start immediately now if I don't cycle the glow plugs twice it will act like yours. I...

    L48 Controller Trouble

That would be my guess, the electric shut off. Why did they go with a electric shut off? I like the old rod system better myself. I would tie the shut off solenoid in the running position and see if it still would shut off.

    bucket cylinder rebuild

If it is suppose to push back? I haven't seen one. maybe some heat and penetrating oil and the tractor hydraulic pressure and hammer. Take the bucket off, get a short piece of pipe the size of the ram that will clear the cir-clip, cut it in half the long way, put the two halves around the ram...

I replaced boom/bucket bushings on a caterpillar 215 15 years ago. I made a sorta C clamp using a 3' long 8" channel iron welded two pieces of heavy gauge 6" angle iron on the ends put a 8 ton hydraulic jack in between it with a piece of oak round I turned on a lathe a little smaller then the...

Need to purchase new starter for L2600DT

Some starters can be easy to fix. It won't be like having a new one but can last a long time if you can isolate the bad part and replace it. Clean it, lube it. What is it doing?

    Replacing backhoe bushings

You can try getting a stack of thick washers slightly smaller then the boom bore, but bigger then the bushing, and the biggest grade 8 bolt you can use put a short piece of pipe on the other side that will let the bushing slide into then put a plate and nut and torque the nut. If that don't do...

    B7100 dozer blade dismount???

Why not have a short hose made up that you can loop the existing hoses and then just tie them up on the tractor? Or set up quick disconnect at the block and then run a small loop. Or you coud run them to the back and have a set of aux ports. I'd do anything to get away from messing with the...
