    L4200 Trailered Now Won’t Start

Ok, I took my L4200 with me to pick up some woodworking tools that were too heavy for me to lift. When I got there the tractor wouldnt start. I had plenty of electric power everywhere else. Lights worked. Gauges worked. I took battery cables and cleaned those up and even cleaned up where...

    Bypass start relay

I don’t really understand how the negative cable attaches to the tractor. It just seems to be wedged into the frame. I will get under there one day soon and see if I can see where it goes. The battery ends of each cable we’re cleanedvery well.

    Bypass start relay

im not certain what the root problem was. I suspect the 4 year old battery is weak and that the positive terminal was lightly corroded, but not bad at all. It’s still strange to me that jumping with my dual alternator truck did nothing. Not even a click, but that was before we worked on the...

    Bypass start relay

I got the tractor started about 2 hours ago and plowed mine and my parents roads.

    Bypass start relay

Unfortunately it’s 0° this mornin, so starting the tractor is not gonna happen anytime soon. My glow plugs have not worked since I got the tractor. In taking apart the dash I found the glow relay, so I have ordered a new one and hopefully that will cure that problem.

    Bypass start relay

So, I went out and disconnected the battery charger because I didn’t want it on all night. I decided to give the key a turn. It cranked. I did it again and it cranked again. Its hard to believe that was the problem, but my dad did a good job of taking apart the cable clamp and cleaning it...

I’m charging the battery right now. I will get the battery good and charged and then try this method tomorrow. Thanks For all suggestions.

    Bypass start relay

On the starter, I assume I need to unplug the wire attached to the spade and then jump from the big terminal 3/4" away

    Bypass start relay

I'm at a loss. I can't find any bad ground. I have power at the starter, but it won't turn over when I jump the large connection to the spade. One time it sparked, but now won't do that.

    Bypass start relay

my seat safety has never worked. I have always been able to start it from standing next to it. I bought it like that. I did not check the pto, but I will. When I turn the key, sometimes the dash will light up and sometimes not. When it lights, the relay starts buzzing. I turn to start and...

    Bypass start relay

My tractor will not start and I suspect the start relay after some searching. Can it be safely bypassed to confirm and to use for a while. I really need to plow my road. I have an L4200 GST

Broke The Curl on my L4200 with LA680

I thought they said they were replacing both rods. Either it was badly bent, but it didn’t look like it, or it was also broken in some way. I looked at the stops on the loader when it happened and they were fine and have always worked like they’re meant to.

Broke The Curl on my L4200 with LA680

My machine is 20 years old. I bought it with about 1600 hours on the meter 2years ago. There are still 1600 hours on the meter. Clearly the meter doesn’t work. Runs awesome though.

Broke The Curl on my L4200 with LA680

One rod was broken off at the end. Other was bent. They are rebuilding both for $650. Will take about a week. It is what it is.

Broke The Curl on my L4200 with LA680

Well, I dropped off the cylinders at a hydraulic shop. Unfortunately someone showed with 4 cylinders just before me, so I’m in second place. The second cylinder that I took off would not move easily so I’m hoping that one is not broken and can just have new seals put in.

Broke The Curl on my L4200 with LA680

Thanks, I knew about the risk of backdragging, but I didn’t feel like that’s what I was doing. Clearly the extra length of a fork adds significant torque allowing parts to fail. I won’t do that again. Live and learn.

Broke The Curl on my L4200 with LA680

I had the forks curled all the way down and drove up against the log, then tried to curl up, which would cause the log to roll. Then bang. This has worked fine until now. I intend to call local Kubota dealer and hydraulic shop in morning. Is the $600 price the whole thing so I can buy it and...

Broke The Curl on my L4200 with LA680

I was pushing on a log that was too heavy for my loader to lift. When I can’t lift it I push. Well, this time there was a bang and now it won’t curl up. It will curl down and then as soon as I let go of the handle it goes loose again. I feel like the problem is in one or both of the curl...

    Carry All

This is another implement I need to get. Farm store has the frame for like $160 and I too will mill some white oak and build the bed.
