    Squirrel, I think! Grrrr….

Those little bastards SUCK!!! I had been keeping the tractor in the garage for years, but needed the room, and moved it to a storage container. I was using it regularly, and everything seemed perfectly normal. It was back in the garage for a couple years before doing the alternator upgrade...

    Float when using Edge Tamers?

I decided to get the "Skis" bolted on before the snow decides to make an appearance. Seems it's always too cold when I put them to get them painted!!! LOL Here's some pics...

Thanks! Being 6" wide, they really work awesome.

    Float when using Edge Tamers?

I made a pair of "Bucket Skis" a few years back. I used 1/4" x 6" flat stock that I bent on my press so there was a 2" "Ski Tip" on the front and rear. I welded angle onto the outside edge, and drilled a couple 1/2" holes through the sides of the bucket. They get bolted on for the winter. Being...

Unique Situation - Need Thoughts and Advice

BX2350: just installed a Kubota Engine Block heater; how long can I leave it on without burning the element?

I have a B3030 and installed a block heater right after I got it. It's really a "coolant" heater, where the heated coolant warms the block, thus warming oil as well. I've found during winter months with temps in the 20's, after 30-45 mins with the heater plugged in, and an 8 count on the glow...

    Looking for a new trailer...

Built an easily removable frame to support the 12'x25' tarp. Got a good deal on a nice 16mil tarp on Amazon. Should do a good job of keeping the snow and rain off for the winter.

BX2755HD gear oil fill plug is seized. 11mm bolt, rusted solid. Used blower I dont think the gear oil was ever serviced

In the past I've had plenty of frozen bolts, stripped nuts on Jeeps. The best thing I've found is to weld a nut onto the damaged surface. Just place the nut over the damaged area, and weld the inside of the nut to the surface. It does two things...gives you a new head to use a socket or wrench...

Trying to get a ROPS for an L4150

It looks like the tractor originally had a FIXED ROPS on it, so it should have the mounting points. One could always be fabricated. Could try contacting local tractor "salvage yards"... SSTractorSalvage Do you have a post on forestryforum.com?

    Leave engine running?

If I know I'm going to be off it doing something for more than 10 mins...it gets turned off. In cold weather I always use the block heater for easier starts. Usually have it plugged in for 30+ mins. Once started, I let it warm up for 10 or so for the hydro oil before using it.

Three point hitch adjustment question - b3030

I have a 3030 and as stated, they can't be changed. Looking at that 3PH Hoe...you get what you pay for. I have the BH75 and there's no comparison. Sub-Frame is the only way to go. Like the old saying goes..."Spend Once...Cry Once"!!!! Why not to use a 3PH backhoe...

    Looking for a new trailer...

I figure I'll be around 7K...8K tops, so I'm looking at the 8K distribution hitch even though the trailer is rated at 9990. From what I've read, you want to match the WDH to the trailer load it will be seeing, and not the max GVWR.

    Looking for a new trailer...

That's a nice lookin trailer!!!! I ended up buying the 18' 10K trailer this past Saturday...it's steel. EVW is 2,775 lbs. With the tractor I figure I'll be around 7K. Truck GVWR is 9,000 lbs. I plan on installing a Curt TruTrack 4P Weight Distribution Hitch that has anti-sway as well.

    Buying soon

The BX should be enough for your needs. Having a backhoe is really handy!! I agree with others that $5K seems a little high for a 6K trailer. I just picked up an 18' RICE trailer this weekend. It's a 7x18 10K Car Hauler and it was $5350. The 18' 7K version is $4490... 7K Car Hauler, the 16' is...
