    V1702 vs V2003T

That kind of figures, the V1702 is kind of tight on the exhaust side of the 743B. I only seen the pictures of the V2003T so far, and the turbo isn't as big as I thought so it may go in (I can change how the turbo is mounted to the engine to move it if needed). Make some heat shields out of...

    V1702 vs V2003T

Like other diesel engines with turbos their probably isn't any real differences with the fuel injection. Like the early 1980's Ford 6710, and 7710 tractor the only difference between the two is the 7710 had a turbo while the 6710 didn't. Both had the same engine, but the turbo only added 19 more...

    V1702 vs V2003T

Wow, that's a lot of info, and I appreciate it. Yes it does have the turbo, I plan to take it off to reduce the power some, and git rid of the extra heat it creates. I also have a plasma cutter, stick, mig, and tig welders, band saw, milling machine, 15"x60" lathe, tubing bender, and access...

    V1702 vs V2003T

Got another Bobcat 743B with a dead V1702, I recently found a good running V2003T engine. Before getting the V2003T does anyone know if the V1702 flywheel will work/bolt on (the V1702 flywheel has the fins to blow air through the radiator), or will it just won't work in-place of the V1702 in the...

WTB: L260 spin on oil filter mount

That's pretty neat, but I was looking for one for the engine oil filter (the old Z1300 diesel) to convert it to spin on filter from the cartridge type filter. Managed to find a used one after 2 days of looking for one.

WTB: L260 spin on oil filter mount

They do not have it, and they can not get it. My last hope seems to be someone who has one from one that they are parting out.

WTB: L260 spin on oil filter mount

Looking for a L260 spin on oil filter mount (part number 15213-32020). Anyone parting out a obsolete L260, or a Z1300 engine. New, and used parts houses are not much help :( .

    V1702 engine experts ?

I have to rebuild a V1702 in the future, and I was just curious because it can be done on a Perkins which I am more familiar with.

    V1702 engine experts ?

I have a question on the Kubota V1702 idi engine, can you convert it to a di engine keeping the idi engine block, crankshaft, rods, and just swap out the head, pistons, and whatever else parts maybe different.

    V1702 injector pump problem!

Turns out the injector pump needs a rebuild ($590.00) Bobcat dealer wants $780.00 plus shipping.

    V1702 injector pump problem!

That is not it either, I made sure of that. I took the injector pump out, and I'm having a diesel injection repair shop test it out (where a friend of one of my friends work). If it doesn't test good they are going to open it up, see what's up, and what it will cost to fix it. Their waiting list...

    V1702 injector pump problem!

I checked the bleeder valve, it does work like it should. Took a good clean 2 gallon plastic fuel jug, drilled, and tapped it at the bottom for 1/4" npt hose barb. Hooked it up like a I.V., put a gallon, and a half of fresh diesel in it. It still does the same thing.

    V1702 injector pump problem!

I managed to find a new primer bulb, put it back in-line (took the electric pump out), and filled the tank full of fuel (it only took 3 gallons to top it completely off). The mechanical lift pump is providing fuel to the injector pump. Tried to bleed it, and its a no go. All it will do is start...

    V1702 injector pump problem!

I didn't have another primer bulb so I put one of those little 12 volt electric fuel pumps for diesel in place of the primer bulb. So it's not a problem of getting fuel to the injector pump. I wired the electric pump to the key, and its getting fuel to the injector pump, I made sure of that...

    V1702 injector pump problem!

I have a Bobcat with a Kubota V1702 engine, about three years ado I was having a problem with it wanting to die out on me. That problem seemed to fixed itself as it had been running trouble free for the last three years until today. The problem has come back, I have checked the fuel lines, the...

    V1702 piston rings

I used the bore gauge to check the cylinders (but I'll check them again with a mic). The compression rings are worn to a taper in thickness (the taper is visible, thinner towards the inside of the rings). The clearance between the rings, and the ring land in all the pistons are at least .015"+...

    V1702 piston rings

Got another Kubota V1702 engine that won't run at all. After eliminating the fuel system as the problem I pulled the engine apart, and the oil rings where seized into the pistons with a lot of caked on oil in the expander (which I have seen on a few engines I've re-built). The compression rings...

    V1702 rear main seal

It has 1702 cast on the side of the block (on the same side as the injector pump), it has V1702-6660 stamped by the injector pump. The only number I can find cast on top of the head is 5 12 08 KLA. The rear main seal od is 4.000" (101.6 mm), and the diameter of the crankshaft where the seal...

    V1702 rear main seal

Only thing I've been getting on the seal from everyone is that it's going to be a seal that only can be had from Kubota. Kubota says they can't help without a serial number (they "claim" the engine serial number is also scribed into the block just behind where the injection pump is bolted on) I...

Kinda hard to do that when someone throws the seal away
