what size discs can my B7100 handle?

I have an old Ferguson ABO-22, approximately 7ft wide with 2 rows of 2 gangs, (6 discs each) that I've pulled with my B7100DT. I wish I could lift it a bit higher with the 3pt, mostly when backing into the barn, but the tractor can pick it up and pulls it surprisingly well... but then again I...

    Question about Auxiliary/Rear Hydraulics B7200

That "port" in the picture looks like the banjo bolt/fitting from the supply oil from the pump - you don't want to try to connect there. There should be another port with a plug on it just under the front of the seat hinge coming out the side of a T handle valve (at least there is on my B7100)...

    Sickle Bar w/ B3200HSD?

I run a simiarl New Holland 451 7' sickle with my B7100 =:O (pics below) The 451 is a pretty heavy mower (592 LBS!), compared to a 1000lb tractor plus a ~400-500lb FEL. The tractor occasionally wanted to pull to the right while heavy cutting until I re-tuned the guards on the mower so it...

    ROPS and ramps

Wow, glad to hear you made it out of there with just a knock. I'm sure you'v e replayed it over and over thinking of how it could have turned out much worse. I just finished making new steel ramps for my trailer to replace the rotten 4x10s that came with it before the same thing happened to...

Cylinder Head Interchange --- 3 Cylinder Engines

I'm pretty sure that was me that mentioned the larger D950 valve interference. I don't see any reason why a D750 or D850 head wouldn't work just fine on a D950.... just a hair down on power due to the smaller valves. I don't know about the D650, but only because I haven't seen one. -Pete

B7100 Directional Control Valve / Pipe Thread question

Pardon if you already know this: The valve in front of the seat is really more a diverter valve than "directional control". It sends flow to either the 3pt lift cylinder or the (plugged) port. Flow is controlled on/off with the 3pt control lever beside the seat regardless what position the...

    Replacement engines? B7100 (not HST)

I put a D950 in my B7100. It came from an Onan marine generator. The Onan Marine D950 didn't have a front PTO shaft, but the front pulley had 3 tapped holes that I fab'd a stub shaft to bolt up to. The oil pan (and oil pump pickup) were deeper but swapped easily. The front cover was quite...

    Kubota in a boat?

The Onan Marine D950 didn't have a front PTO shaft, but the front pulley had 3 tapped holes that I fab'd a stub shaft to bolt up to. The oil pan (and oil pump pickup) were deeper but swapped easily. The front cover was quite different with the oil filter on the other side which interfered with...

    Kubota in a boat?

My B7100 is sporting a D950 motor that came from an Onan marine generator, so technically that was in a boat, but not pushing it. Universal Marine diesels (model M25XP is a D950), and surely others are marinized Kubotas. They fit them with heat exchangers and raw water pumps, and a marine...

    ignition key

I accidentally kicked my key and broke it off while re-boarding last month. I managed to get the piece out with some skinny needlenose pliers, took the two pieces to a local locksmith and he was able to cut me a new one for about $7. Gotta like guys who know their stuff!

    B7100 steering box rebuild

I think the cover gaskets are used as shims. If you're down to one very thin one, have good look at the upper race thats machined on the steering shaft. Mine has worn so that I've got some up and down play as well. Was thinking of putting a shim under the lower race to take up the slack.

Roundtrip in the West. Like to meet?

We're 1.5hrs north of Seattle, and 1hr south of Vancouver in Bellingham, Washington. If you head up to Vancouver, the San Juan Islands or Vancouver Island, you'll pass through Bellingham. Stop by for a visit. I recommend coming over the cascade mountain range from eastern to western...

    750D head swap

From what I'd been able to figure out, of the 3cyl. heads with perpendicular injectors, the D650/750/850 are all interchangable. The D950 has bigger valves that'll interfere on the cylinder walls (don't ask how I know). The one up for auction looks to me like a D750 head. It also looks a bit...

    Parking question??

Other than the risk of it coming down and squishing something/someone, the hydraulic cylinder rods are exposed therefore subject to possible damage - dings, dirt, getting bent or rusting. (rust is unlikely unless they have inferior chrome plating)

    B6000 gray market?

    I'd found s/n info on tractordata.com for the B7100, but it doesn't appear that it uses any "smarts" (i.e. with dates embeded): 1976: 10001 1977: 13931 1978: 36646 1979: 54221 1980: 64448 1981: 70678 1982: 74217 1983: 76009 1984: 77309 1985: 78435 Unfortunately, it didn't have any info on...

But more importantly, where did you get that sickle bar mower? I want it!

    B6000e knocking

First make sure it's really the engine knocking and not a piece of sheetmetal flapping around, pto shaft, etc.. (I almost got a free F250 diesel 'cause the owner thought it had spun a bearing and was about to grenade itself. Turned out to be just a loose cover on the bellhousing, but man, did...

    reversed front tires

Widening the front track won't improve initial stability. The front wheels always stay on the ground while the tractor picks up a rear wheel and pivots on the axle center pivot until the front axle bump stops are hit, at which point you're probably going over due to momentum, regardless of...

    1980 b7100

26" should fit with a bit of room to spare before rubbing on the tires (how much depends on the rear tire position on the axles). Lower arms are supposed to be perfectly straight other than a "kick" (~15 degrees?) to the ball mounts welded to the ends. The 3pt control lever should cause the...

    snow blade attached to bucket

I had built a mid-mount 42" grader blade for my Wheel Horse lawn tractor a few years ago. It worked very well for what it was but had very little use since I got my B7100... even less after I build the boxblade! I'd tried moving snow one winter with it but found it to be more fun than...
