I think I work too cheap.

It's all relative, my man. You can keep equipment busy and still put a little money in your pocket (not sure about your income tax situation) at $50 as long as you get paid for your time driving to small jobs that are a little further away. I charge $70/hr where I am along with drive time to...

Need advice please on leaking axle

Man, I hope you do a better job of taking pics and/or video than I did! It'd sure be nice to see this process documented better. Either way, best of luck to you.

    When you just love tractors...

That thing would put some power to the ground, wouldn't it?!

Just think of the backhoe you'd hang off the back of that thing! :p

    When you just love tractors...

Yes, it's not a kubota and no I'm not operating it. However, I'd have considered robbing the local bank in tiny Flanagan, IL, if I could have used the money to pay the dealer to let me pull a big ol' implement through the neighboring field! I was in Flanagon visiting a customer for work and...

Need advice please on leaking axle

Thanks for the pics and great shot of the seal! I was pretty ill-prepared in terms of cleanliness. I started cracking things open while I still had a ton of dirt and muck all around the joints. Not too smart. Hopefully this thread will be enough info to give some other guy or gal the...

Need advice please on leaking axle

A few more just for reference. I was fortunate that nothing was in a serious bind. I had to beat on the old seal pretty well to get it out but other than those ornery snap rings, it was pretty straightforward.

Need advice please on leaking axle

Well, the deed has been did. Most of the project went great EXCEPT FOR TWO SNAP RINGS that made me want to lose my religion (I didn't, in case you were wonderin'...HA!). My crappy little snap ring pliers have since been retired and the next day I bought a new set off Amazon. For posterity...

    SSQA and BH77 fix

Very nice work! My SSQA pads were bent all to the snot with a mishap I created. I was backing up in the woods when my bucket caught a tree really hard and managed to come disconnected on one side. As I backed up, the the back edge of the bucket that caught on the tree just keep flexing out and...

    Leinbach auger height issues

I often had the same issue on my B7800. If you had just sent a picture of the post hole digger at full height without the auger, I'd think the geometry looks pretty darn normal. *IF* that were the case, you might just have an unusually long auger meant for digging deeper holes. Even if you...

Need advice please on leaking axle

Thanks so much for the pics, Mr. B. That's extremely helpful and I can see all the structural support that was there in the past. Quite a big change they made, it seems.

Need advice please on leaking axle

I was kind of afraid that might be the best advice! Looks like 110 is officially a "plug" but I guess the idea is the same...once you're in there take care of what needs to be taken care of.

Need advice please on leaking axle

I've gotten through the biggest part of my pond project where I needed the L3940. Now I need to get the supposed bad seal. Can anyone please be so kind as to help give me just an ounce of extra confidence that based on where my leak is that I need the 050 seal listed on this parts drawing? I...

It's about to go down (the pond liner, that is)

And here's how things look as I head out the door this morning.

It's about to go down (the pond liner, that is)

The degree to which you care about these things is determined by many things...amount of water flowing into the pond, type of soil in the pond, etc etc. In my case, these were the main factors: 1) my watershed acreage is just right at the minimum recommended for ponds in my part of Oklahoma...

It's about to go down (the pond liner, that is)

Thanks for the kind words. It's still pretty ugly with all the wrinkles. Although most of them will be covered by water, I'll still have to work to make the shoreline look a little nicer. Burying the liner in the top trench was the single toughest part of the job. The liner looks all soft and...

It's about to go down (the pond liner, that is)

Well, the deed is did. It just about killed me because I ended up doing the entire thing by myself. I've yet to smooth out some of the wrinkles although I won't get them all out because there are curves in my dam, varying depths in the pond and that dang island that I really regretted at the...
