Is CJ-4 oil ok to use in an L3800?

CJ-4 exceeds CI-4 performance in every way with the ULSD we have here in the USA. Kubota oils if you look at them are now CJ-4 too.

    UDT or Super UDT?

Texas Refinery makes a killer fluid designed to run much longer intervals than the OE fluid. Schaeffer Oil makes a product called 315 that I have run in my Hydro Botas with superb intervals backed up by oil analysis. I have not used the Amsoil product but I have no doubt it can greatly extend...

ZD331 rough idle, lack of power

Going back to the running hot issue. Why did it run hot? Was the radiator clooged with grass/dust, or did the thermostat stick? Usually if you run something hot enough to crack a head you'll have issues with pistons scoring and low compression . You may want to rent a compression tester...

    M6800 4wd $18,000

Shuttle shift trans, only 300 hrs. Been kept indoors and had the 50hr service(all filters&fluids) as well as regular oil changes. No dents, scratches. Used for bush-hogging. Serious buyer can get plenty of pictures.

    Dextron? in my kubota

Some folks treat equipment like they do their cars. They trade every few years regardless. I'd say a person of that type would be best served trying to cheap-out of the cost of PM. Me, I keep my stuff until the wheels fall off(then I stick them back on) so I use the very best fluids/filters I...

    Kubota M6800DT

I bought this tractor new in 05 to do some bushog work with. It only has 300hrs on it and has been kept inside my shop when not in use. I did the 50HR service(all fluids&filters) and the oil has been changed using only synthetic since. 4WD with shuttle trans. & one set of remotes on the rear...

    Furnace Oil -> Tractor

I have read those threads as well and none offer any proof that 2-stroke works as a lubricity additive. I ain't sayin it does not work; rather none offer blind study proof. I have seen two blind studies that compared all major lubricity players and they tested 2-stroke as well. In their tests...

    Oil Filter cross ref

Wix number is 57430. All of Carquest/Napa premium filters are made by Affinia/Wix. Their part numbers are even the same with the addtion of one number. I have noy found but one filter on my Kubotas that Wix cannot supply. It's the fuel filter for my B2710.

    Avoid "CJ-4" Oil in New L3800 ???

Thank you. Do you own an L-Series and if so, how do you like it?

Anyone seen this on a B2710hst??

I suppose I will see what the dealer wants for a new line and go from there.

Yes, you are right. I've been a Kubota customer for a while and for the number of units they sell I am sure they are on par or better in terms of defects & design issues. My M6800 has been flawless so far. It's just on the light side for what I need. I can definitely say from my experience that...

Anyone seen this on a B2710hst??

As an update. I took the belly mower off and crawled under the tractor. It's not the fitting leaking. Just before the fitting the line has a bracket welded/soldered to the metal line. A bolt goes through the bracket to secure the line to the frame. Apparently the vibration from the tractor is...

    B series

In what Kubota would call an L series tractor Massey now has the 1600 series tractor made by Iseki in Japan. I always though Masseys were the ugliest beast on earth but the 1600 series is sharp to say the least. All cast iron and steel construction. I don't think the Iseki engine is quite as...

    B series

I have been a Kubota owner for about ten years. I own a B,an L,and a M. My B2710 is about a 2003 unit and it's cast iron all the way back. That being said,if new Bs are aluminum from the engine back then I have purchased my last one. I'm sorry, my B2710 is on the light side with a cast iron...
