I only use the L4300 to mow grass so it is not experiencing more load or stress. I have noticed recently that it is consuming more fuel than it has in the past. I was wondering if these diesel engines have to have injector cleaners periodically or perhaps they need some maintenance.

I fabricated a piece of stout steel angle iron and placed it in front of the filter to protect the filter. I can send you a pic of you want it. that filter now comes in metal for 4x the price of the plastic but I don't think it protects the filter enough.

I have similar issue on my L4300. The two connection at the PTO lever got rusty and provided the resistance. Is there any way to disconnect that safety switch other than just mating the wires to each other. Two very small wires disengage the whole system. I understand the reason for the switch...
