Not too familiar with this product, but was wondering if you could put a cover on it sort of like a heating pad? If it had a 12V plug you could put it on and off as needed. joe

I agree, that's why I started woodworking with hand tools. Hand saw, screwdriver, eggbeater drill and brace and bit. Been looking at flea market for usable tools or ones that can be refurbished, good walk also. I retired in Sept. and it keeps me moving, this is why I am doing it. Now all I need...

I once had a battery cable corrode almost in two under the insulation. Same symptoms as yours. Changed the starter twice before I found it, I know dumb me. joe

Believe it or not a good spray of pam or similar non stick cooking spray works good for me. Clean it good, repaint and let dry and coat with pam. Just my solution. joe

It may have worn a lip or shoulder on the rod and will have to be lined up with the hole. I've had it happen to me. Hard to say without pictures or diagram. Hope this is of some help. joe
