I’ve researched the internet searches and forum; but think someone will answer this one A LOT quicker than I can find it.

Mower has 18hrs on, bought in 2019 by an older gentleman that got sick so I bought it off him for what seemed like a deal :)

When I turn the key, it just clicks one time. I traced the click to a double connection just below the key, two plugs.

I pulled the neutral safety plug on the right gear shifter and suck a wire in both side to “try” to bypass it. It still did the single click.

If I touch the solenoid terminals; the engine turns over as normal. But interesting enough doesn’t fire. Ignition is in the on position.

I can tell it has a seat safety but I thought I remember I could get off if in neutral and it still ran. That got me thinking the seat safety is for when it’s not in neutral.

Before I start pulling things and replacing hoping someone has seen this or can point me to a few tests to eliminate items it could be

THANKS.

Put a test light on the solenoid small wire terminals; no light when I turn the key. Battery terminal on the solenoid tested fine. Put an ohm meter on the neutral safety switch , it responded. Same for fuse labeled starter.
The two terminals where the click comes from is actually more under the gear shift slot than the key.

Well that was stupid , or it feels that way.

Messing around with it again I thought to myself odd the only neutral safety is on the right side and there isnt one on the left.

Turns out it has popped out of the holder and was dangling where I couldn't see it

That made a difference :D
