I know a lot of people change their tires and wheels, I'm interested in buying a set of R1 Ag wheel & tires. Based on my operator manual they state that the following sizes are used:

Front - 7.2-16
Rear - 11.2-24

It appears that the same size is used on the L2501 / L3301 & L3901. I'm looking to run these part of the year on my L3901 when it is in the woods. I use Turf's and bring it home in the winter for snow blowing. I always feel the R1's are a little stronger when it comes to stumps and similar.

I've got a set of R1s on my L3800 (same size). I'd like to change them to R4s. I live in MS though, way far from you. I'm trying to find someone local I can just swap with.

Thanks for the reply, yes MS is a little far. I just got a price for a new set of wheels and tires from one of my dealers, with rears loaded it was just under $1800, someone is selling a used set locally and is asking more money. I think I will just buy new.

I ended up ordering a set of Ag wheels and tires for my L3901 from a dealer, they were $1,800 with loaded rears, that did not seem too bad as someone about an hour away had a set on craigslist with 500 hours use and they wanted the same price.

Should be fun changing out the tires, it will be a new experience for me, not sure how much those loader rear wheel and tires will weigh. luckily I have a lot of other equipment to lift and move them!

Rim Guard says 254 pounds of ballastl per tire. Should not be overly hard to handle. I recently muscled some 11.2 x 28's loaded with CaCl around by myself when I was swapping tires on a couple old Fords. They were maybe 30# heavier than yours.

Think about the width you want to run the tires and set the rims the way you need them before you mount them the first time.

The lack of adjustment and the lack of wheel weight holes on the R4 tires is very much a disappointment in my book. But I bought the R4s without realizing it.

Will do, I run my L3200 and MX5800 on R1 ag wheel and tires that are both set to the narrow setting. I’m planning on setting these wheels to max track width on my L3901. The R1’s are quite a bit taller than the R3 turfs that are currently fitted, I will post some photos to show the difference when I fit them.
