Hello,

I have a L3940 and had a leak coming from my loader valve. I took off the fender and found a hex head that was where it was leaking from. I don't know much about hydraulics. Are these hex bolts just for extra ports and can I tighten them down to stop the leak. Its the lower hex head and you can see the fluid in the picture. Thanks for all help and hopefully easy question...

The hex bolt just to the right of the socket screw is a plug with a sealing washer under the head. There is a load check valve under the plug. Tighten with care. Of it does not stop the leak replace the sealing washer.

Dan,
Thanks for reply - Rather than hex bolt, it looks like I should have said "socket screw" - the lower one was the leaker. Are these okay to tighten?

Gently but probably going to have to remove it and reinstall with thread sealant.

Thanks a lot for the reply and good news that I can tighten it gently! Do you have a thread sealant you would recommend for those? Thanks!
