In your post listing various manufacturers that used an 80 grade oil in their finals you didn't list Caterpillar. You also got fancy towards the end with accents over vowels.

I saw an opportunity to combine two areas of interest with one finely hewn response, also incorporating the additional attribute of brevity.
The accents are the re a ult of a smart phone with a mind of its own.

AFAIK CAT's only foray into agricultural tractors was the Challenger brand which is now owned by AGCO.

Heavy earth moving equipment does not employ common sump designs and the lubricants used in thos machines are a whole different and distinct category.

Way too much information for me.
I have an owners manual that states SAE 80 or 90 for the front diff. So that is what I use.
So far so good. Last time I drained it out it looked pretty good and the tractor just continues to run no matter how badly I maintain it.
