The tires on my new-to-me 1120 D are about shot. It only has ~350 hrs on it, but they are pretty worn down, especially the front ones. So I want to get a new set, but have no idea what to buy. I found some Carlisles on line, that was the only name I recognized. I am guessing there are a bunch of off-brands that I should avoid. Any guidance?

Thanks,

Tim

You'll want to look at a higher Ply's rating for the weight. I've had good luck with ITP, and Carlisles. There's bunch of them out there just look for your size on-line.

I have tusk made by Rocky Mountain Atv on my side by sides. I still have factory tires on an another side by side and 4wheeler when those need replacing it will be with Tusk brand.

I went through this first with RTV-900, then with my RTV-XG850.

For the -900 I went with ITP Blackwater Evolutions to replace the Craptyles. The most important thing about them for me was the 8 plies, aggressive tread, 8 plies, larger size (25 to 26) and having 8 plies.

When I bought my -XG850, the requirements changed a bit. Since the 850 was faster, I could take it out my local 1, 1 1/2 and 2 lane rural roads around my farm (~25 mph vs. 40 mph) i.e. Joy Riding. Also, the asphalt really wore down the ITPs (I swapped them out from the -900) and they were really worn.

Hence, I picked the Tusk Terra Bites. 27 vs 26 -11-12, still 8 ply, still a fairly aggressive tread but more asphalt-friendly.

The only downside to the Tusks is the fact AllTerrainOffRoad closed and I couldn't order from them anymore. :(

You need to understand your terrain you're going to be riding on. Simple but stupid example: You don't want to pick Sand Paddle tires for asphalt; nor road tires for extreme off-roading or mudding. This concept should be obvious, but I thought I would specifically mention it.
