I recently purchased a B7500 for mowing and would like to use it for some gardening. We've never had a garden at this house and I'm afraid to hook-up a 3pt tiller without plowing first. The owners manual recommends no larger than a single 12" bottom plow. Has anyone had experience using a bottom plow on a 7500?

First off welcome to the orange, and a 12 inch single bottom plow will work ok,, NOW why in the name of John Paul Jones would you be afraid to rototill new ground?? Son put the tiller on and go slow a wee bit at a time for each pass and pretty soon your full depth no muss no fuss,, in the last 40 years I have had a bunch of tillers,, take it slow and steady dropping the tines an inch or 2 at a pass, don't just sump that bad girl in all the way or you ll have problems,,, and you will do just dandy.:D

I have tilled new ground a number of times. Take slow passes going down a little deeper each time. I wait about a week for the exposed roots to die and then till again.

Just follow the previous advice with a tiller and you will be fine. I have done the same thing and gotten along just fine with my B7500,

Thanks for the feedback. What size tillers are most people running on this particular tractor? Any brand preferences? Any to avoid? Thanks again.
