Troubleshooting procedure thoughts

LX2610 with a BH77 mounted on the back. Hydraulic oil level is correct, with no visible leaks anywhere. Left ("Drivers side") outrigger keeps slowly collapsing (or retracting). Extends right back out with controls. I'm thinking (is that what I'm smelling? ) either the cylinder or the control valve. If I swap hoses (extend and retract) from left to right, and the right cylinder now collapses, then the leak is in the valve. If the left cylinder continues acting up, then it's cylinder internals (seals). Right?

Exactly, if the problem follows the hose switching its in the valve.

Theoretically, it can't be the cylinder seals. We've had this discussion several times on this site. Due to the volume of the rod, a blocked in/closed cylinder can't collapse, because the reduced volume of fluid has nowhere to go.

My BT900 has pilot-operated check valves, but one side still leaks down very slowly. Apparently, Kubota didn't think they were necessary on the BH77.

What he said - its not the cylinder. If you don't believe just test the cylinder

1. Fully retract cylinder and tie outrigger up
2. Remove base end hose and plug port on cylinder
3. Remove ties
4. Move valve to retract and hold it there.

If cylinder is leaking it will extend

my bh92 leaks down also over time. long as it doesnt leak down or your not losing hydraulic fluid while operating normally its really not a issue in my opinion

The outriggers (and the boom arm) on my 77 will SLOWLY droop when the tractor is sitting for a few days, but nothing that I am concerned with.

When you say slowy, is it a few minutes, or few hours….and is it while it’s in use, or when its off and sitting there?

His problem is different than yours. The outrigger wont hold the tractor UP while he is digging. Theres a fix for that.
