New to forum, so please be gentle. I have had as BX1860 for past 2 1/2 years and use it mostly for mowing and yard work. Love the machine. Would like a little more power but "o well".
I am looking to buy a chipper/shredder to clean up around the yard. Biggest brush size will be 3-4 inch at most, mostly smaller. In the past I have rented stand alone units but I think it time to buy a PTO driven one. Any suggestions ???

We bought a MacKissic TPH123 earlier this year:

http://www.mackissic.com/Three Point Hitch.html

Initially bought the model that sits on a cart and has a little Briggs gas motor.
Didn't like that setup, so swapped it for the 3 pt hitch model.
(they look to me to be identical as far as the chipper/shredder/hammers, it just uses the PTO to drive a bigger belt)

It has gobbled up everything.
Now we are composting what would have normally filled up the dumpster.
I can't say enough about the machine or the manufacturer.

If you can't easily find one locally (I couldn't) you'll have to go through their distributors:

p.s.
The wife gets ALL the credit for getting the PTO version.
Smart lady.

p.p.s.
it's Made in the USA!

I have a LandPride WC1503 on the way. I've got a branch pile the size of a dump truck so it'll get well tested. I'll give a report after I get it and use it.

I have changed direction slightly after spending the day on the internet researching. I believe I need a Chipper only. How much were you able to get the LandPride for ( if you don't mind me asking) and where did you get it?

If you search around you will find most folks are very satisfied with Wallenstein chippers. I bought one made by BE Agri-Ease, it's a near identical copy of the Wallenstein at a huge discount. I think I paid about $1600 for mine a year or so ago and got it from a local dealer about 20 miles away so no shipping charges.
