Stuck spool valve cause loss of hydraulics?

I have a B2710 with a Kubota power angle blade with joystick control. On 3 occasions I had no hydraulics for the joystick or 3ph. Hydraulics eventually started after an engine restart and wiggling the joystick.

Would a stuck spool valve, either the joystick or 3ph cause this? I usually leave the blade in down/float postion when I shut off the tractor.

Stuck spool valve? I don't think that is the issue; the 2710 has a power beyond port that allows the 3pt hitch to operate independently of the blade valve spools. Let's see what Vic has to say on this one. Have a enjoyable Thanksgiving! Butch

Actually the it is not a temperature issue. The tractor is kept inside a heated building +10 C.

I have been leaving the joystick in down/float position. I've started leaving the blade up, to see if the issue was realated to the float. Just have to wait and see if it happens again.
thanks for the feedback

Leaving it in float may be the problem as you noted. The workings may get "stuck" in that position until things warm up and the wiggling frees up the internals. (Remember mum saying that your eyes will get stuck if you keep crossing them.)

Leaving the blade up will cause back pressure on the valves and seals. Why not just pop it out of float after blade is lowered. Not sure of your set-up but sometimes there is a "float" detent on the spool and a neutral position. Leave it in neutral. Maybe that is what you are already trying.

So I have tried leaving the front blade and/or the 3ph in an up position, I also left them lowered, but not floating.....
But the problem still exists. Sometimes there are no hydraulics at start up. I tried wiggling the joystick, without any effect. After about a minute or so, the hydraulics return to life. This one has got me stumped. There is no sound of the pump starving for fluid.

I am concerned that one of these times it may not come back, leaving me stuck with my attachments down, so to speak!

Anyone have a suggestion I could try?
