A new owner to a used 2009 BX1860 and in coming from an TG model I must say have enjoyed the experience so far.
Currently have been reading different threads on the issue of some dealers along with some private owners putting a LA 243 on the 1860 vs using the Kubota recommended loader of LA203..
The only difference i can see in specs is the LA243 which is for the BX23 and up lifts another 100 lbs
I like the thought of moving up to a BX23 down the road, and keeping the loader for that application, however is it worth it?
Looking for some feedback on the members thoughts if its ok by going with the LA243 model or am i just looking for trouble.

thanks for the feed back and thoughts on this matter.

First: I would like to welcome you to the neighborhood :)

Second: As for your question. I personally would stick with what was matched to your model. The BX 23 came with it's own loader and should come with included with the purchase.

That would be my thought process, that along with $4.00 might get you a Starbucks' coffee ;)

thanks for the welcome, and appreciate your feedback. I just find it a little confusing when a dealer who is pushing the deal along with a bagger system is comfortable in suggesting that there will be no issues and or concerns of the ability in the BX1860 being able to handle the LA243 loader. Makes me wonder if he's hard up to do a sale, or doesn't want to inventory more than one loader.

The LA243 will work OK on the BX1860 but It's geometry is off for the shorter wheelbase tractor ( the loader frame is to long) You will need more rear ballast and the stability of the tractor is somewhat compromised because of the greater distance from the front wheels to the bucket on the LA243. Your dealer may think it's alright but Kubota Canada sure don't or they wouldn't have supplied both loaders! IF you tip your tractor the liability will be between you and your dealer.

This makes sense Ed, I had not taken into consideration the wheel base, only the loader specs. Thanks for the feed back and will be sure to follow this very informItive form. I now have a more at piece of mind in my decision , a little different of we were sitting with a new tractor including a warranty and all however it's a piece job with a new loader.
