When this issue occurs, the first thing you have to do is stop the bleeding.
If the sight glass is still in position and it's a very slow leak, lucky you. If the clear center circle has fallen out and your tractor is leaking badly, it can be a little scary.
Either way the repair is the same.

1 - Drive the drivers side left rear tire up on a concrete block or ramp and this will shift the oil in the case so its away from the hole.

2- Do not remove the old plug till you have the new one.

3- Order the new one. Coleman Equipment put the new part (Called an Oil Gauge) in my hand in 24 hours via UPS.

4- Have gasket sealer with the highest oil resistance available ready to go. Remove the old sight glass by using brake cleaner and a flat screwdriver to remove the old sealant on the outside of the gauge.
Then use needle-nose pliers to simply grip the black circular surround and pull it out. There are no threads. Have paper towels handy. I prefer to have a beautiful model holding a roll of Brawny but she wasn't available so I just put them nearby.
Use brake cleaner, a flat screwdriver and paper towels to clean off the inside surface of the hole. Don't be lazy with this. I went the extra step of using a few pieces of fine sandpaper on my finger to give a few turns to create some grip surface for the new sealant.

5- Carefully apply a bead of new sealant to the inside circumference of the hole. Then carefully apply the sealant to the outer diameter of the black surround.

6- Then carefully seat this into the hole with a push of your finger till its fully seated. It will be a tight fit. Hold it there for a minute or two.
7- If you got sealant on the sight glass, put a drop of oil on a napkin. Use your fingertip to get just a tiny bit of oil residue onto the sight glass and clean off the smeared sealant. Dry off the oil with a piece of paper towel.
8- Leave tractor alone for 24 hours.
9- Drive off the block/ramp and give it time for the oil level to show.
10- Add Hydraulic if you need it.
11- During your regular maintenance, avoid spraying any type of penetrating lubricant on or near the sight glass and the pto shaft areas. This stuff can creep in and mess up gaskets.
