2005 GR2100 3 cyl diesel lawn tractor will not shut off with the key. It Will shut off manually under the hood. I replaced in order, the vacuum switch/valve under the hood, the timer. and the key mechanism. one at a time, none of them fixed the issue. What's next?

Thanks in advance.

First, check the shutoff solenoid. Connect a VOM or test light, positive to the wire on the solenoid, negative to a good ground.
Start the tractor - there should be no voltage.
Now, turn the key switch off - there should be 12 volts present for about 10 seconds, then go to zero.
If the voltage goes to 12 then 0, the solenoid is probably bad.
If the voltage never goes to 12,
1. check the 15A Engine Stop fuse
2. check the connections on the stop timer
a. black wire should go to a good ground
b. gray wire should have 12 volts always
c. yellow/white wire should have 12 volts when the keyswitch is on, 0 volts otherwise
d. black/yellow wire should be 0, then 12 for 10 seconds when you turn the key off, then 0

Let us know what you find.

Here's what I found:
C. No volts from yellow/white wire with switch on.
D. No volts from black/yellow wire.

Fuse is good. 12 V always from the gray wire..
I will look for a wiring diagram and see if I can find where the yellow/white comes from.
Thanks,
Rob

1. That yellow/white wire also feeds the fuel lift pump. Does it run with the key on?
2. Did you check the 3A OPC fuse?
3. There's a wiring diagram in the WSM at www.kubotabooks.com

Ok, I found a spot on the yellow/white wire that had rubbed on the battery tie down through the insulation. I think it was grounding ouy on the tied down rod. Fixed that with some elec. tape. The 30A fuse WAS blown, changed that and the shut off works. Now, with Foot on brake...she starts, and shuts off. However, I now have a new issue. I start it with foot on brake. It will run and shut off fine. If I take my foot off brake while running, it shuts off. I have not done any troubleshooting yet today. Kinda frustrated...
Any thoughts appreciated...It ran fine before this. Cut the grass yesterday. Except had to manually shut off the fuel...

Thanks for the wiring diagram link. I did not check the 3 amp fuse. Need to look into that.
