Shop Manual for BX1870 Front End Loader

I need some help again here guys. I learned this morning from my Kubota dealer that the FEL on my BX1870 only has a one-year warranty; hence they will not be able to fix the "squishy" loader control lever issue (the actual tractor is still under warranty but not the FEL w/hydraulic control).

I've done a search on this forum for any references to BX shop manuals and got no usable information.

I want to buy a shop manual for the BX1870 (or 1860 since it's the same machine w/ only cosmetic differences).

The manual would need to specifically cover the FEL's hydraulic control valve and I don't know whether the standard BX shop manual could cover that, since the FEL on the BX1870 does not come standard.

I would be very grateful if one of you knowledgeable folks could tell me where I could get a shop manual that specifically covers Kubota's model LA203 and LA243 front end loaders. My BX has the LA203.

Thanks very much.

Daren,

I want to thank you again for your link to the $9.95 download manual. I went ahead and ordered that and now that I've finally had a chance to look it over it looks as if it will serve.

I might need to ask some advise from those here on the forum when I start disassembly; particularly of the control linkage since the manual does not cover that very well. It might be self-evident once I get started, which probably will not be for quite a while as the loader is still usable, just aggravating in that the lever does not "return to center" when using the bucket tilt function.

The job looks as if it will require at least two to three days of my time and I don't believe I'll have that time until late summer or early fall.

Thanks again, Daren.

Update on the squishy FEL control for whatever its worth.

The dealer had told me that as the warranty for the FEL was good for only one year and as I've had it now about a year and three months then the dealership would not be able to work on that problem under warranty.

Thanks to Daren Todd (a member of this forum) and a link he provided, I downloaded the shop manual for my BX1870 w/mower and FEL.

Close study of the manual revealed that the hydraulic block that the FEL control is linked to is also the hydraulic block/valve system for the 3pt hitch; in other words, while the FEL itself was no longer under warranty, the hydraulic block/valve system IS still under warranty since it is an integral part of the tractor, not an integral part of the implement (FEL).

On discovering this, I called the service rep at the dealership back and explained this to him. He said "bring it on in, you're right, that piece is still under warranty."

Those of you on this forum that own a BX series Kubota might want to keep this in mind if your machine is still under warranty but the "implements" are not. The 3pt hitch uses the same hydraulic valve block that the FEL uses; as the 3pt hitch is not considered to be an "implement" then don't let the dealer tell you they cannot fix it because it is no longer under warranty.

Thanks again Daren... you saved me considerable toiling and moiling and uncertainty.
