safety cut-out GR1699-11

Hi I have a GR1600-2 and when I engage the cutting deck, the engine cut out. I have found a switch activated by the deck engage lever and if held in, cutting deck works fine but release it and engine stops. Any ideas? I suppose I could bypass it but would rather fix it. Cheers Neil

Try bypassing your seat switch and see if that corrects the problem. Seat switch may have failed or is not getting depressed. Does your mower have a grass catcher? If it does check the operation of the switch where the blower attaches to the deck, it will give the same result if it failed or is not depressed.

Thanks White Tiger you were spot on. It was the grass collector safety switch. You saved me a lot of time.
