A whopping 600 hrs and apparently the head gasket is leaking.
Survey says..most likely a cracked head.....internet chatter.
A couple grand is the ballpark est....possibly much more if the cyl is scarred or head is actually cracked.

Trade it in ....fix it to the tune of maybe 5k (worst case)

What to do.?...not to happy.

Seems to be a "thing" with these machines...overheating.

Thoughts from those that have been down this trail??

Ain’t no way a head is 5K. Few hundred labor and $1k for a head at most. (Messicks says $893)
Your lookin’ at maybe $1500 tops if that’s all it is.

The reason most heads crack is...overheating just like you said.
Most common reason for overheating? Improper servicing and maintenance of the coolant system (Failure to use the cooling system vent and remove the air from the system when changing anti-freeze is common.)

The 5 k ish was if the block is fouled up ,scored cyl. etc
The 2k est. is R&R head plus resurface and do valves.
Seems to me they could just do the gasket & it would be fine.
Reading.........It seems that a crack or more in the head is probly gonna be there.

Frustrating to figure what to do.
Don't care to do myself.....
